Privacy

Effective date: September 23, 2026.

The short version: Plain Buy Guides does not ask for your name, email or any account and runs no advertising trackers. We use Google Analytics, which sets cookies, to measure visits and link clicks, and we count, anonymously, which page's Amazon button was clicked.

Hosting and server logs

This site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare keeps standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. Cloudflare handles that data under its own privacy policy. We do not combine those logs with anything else, and we do not try to identify visitors.

Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics to measure visits and link clicks, including clicks on links to Amazon. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and collects information such as the pages you view, how you arrived and the links you click; we use it only in aggregate to see which guides are useful. Google handles that data under its own privacy policy (policies.google.com). The site sets no advertising cookies of its own, and we do not use tracking pixels or fingerprinting. Our host may also add Cloudflare Web Analytics, a cookie-free page-view counter that gives us aggregate visit totals.

Amazon button clicks

When you click a link to Amazon, your browser sends us a small anonymous note with the page you were on, the product's Amazon ID, our tracking tag and the country our host reports for the request. We store only those fields and the time. No name, email, IP address, cookie or other identifier is stored, and the link to Amazon is not changed.

Calculators

The calculators on our guide sites run entirely in your browser. The numbers you type are not sent to us or to anyone else, and they are not stored.

Amazon links

Links to Amazon are affiliate links. After you click one, Amazon may set cookies on its own site under its own privacy policy so that a purchase can be credited to us. We never see what you buy or who you are. We receive only totals from Amazon.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
