Best leaf blowers for homeowners: check how airflow and runtime are measured

Check where airflow is measured and which setting the runtime describes

Ask where an airflow number was measured. Husqvarna's page leads with up to 890 CFM for the 360BT, but its specification table lists 631 cfm at the round nozzle, and its current manual lists only 632 cfm with the blower nozzle. An older 2016 manual labelled 890 as average air volume at the cover. EGO's page ties its 615 CFM to the turbo button, its manual lists it as maximum air volume at the nozzle, and the speed dial covers 200 to 480 CFM. The table below lists all 17 models.

Runtime depends on the setting, so check which one a figure describes. EGO's manual gives 100 minutes on low, 15 on high and 10 in boost with the 2.5Ah battery, while its page says up to 75 minutes on average. WORX says up to 60 minutes, and its category page says that is in low mode. Greenworks says up to 20 minutes on high and publishes no turbo figure. EGO's 63 dB and WORX's 57 dB come with no stated distance or setting.

A one-battery cordless kit: EGO LB6151

The LB6151 kit pairs the 615 CFM blower with one 56V 2.5Ah battery and a standard charger, which EGO lists at 50 minutes to charge. The manual gives 4.74 lb without the battery and a recommended operating range of 5 to 104 °F. Boost lasts about 10 minutes on this battery, so treat the turbo button as a burst, not a working speed. EGO's warranty is five years on the tool and three on the battery, but it covers only the original purchaser who bought from an authorized EGO retailer, and EGO may reject claims from unauthorized sellers. Ask EGO whether your seller qualifies before you order.

A two-battery blower for bigger yards: WORX WG582

WORX rates the WG582 at 780 CFM and 190 mph, with a variable trigger, a cruise control dial and a Turbo button, and lists two 20V 4.0Ah PowerShare packs and a dual charger in the box. The manual says the blower runs only with two batteries installed, and only to the level of the weaker one if their charge differs. It gives 5.95 lb for the bare tool, says not to expose it to rain and calls it intended for residential use only. Pressing Turbo again returns it to the cruise setting; WORX gives no turbo runtime or time limit.

The three-year warranty requires registration within 30 days; without it, WORX applies 24 months. It excludes trade, professional and rental use, and you may pay shipping both ways.

A 40V kit with cruise control: Greenworks BLF442

Greenworks rates the BLF442 at 550 CFM and 130 mph and lists one 40V 4.0Ah battery and a charger, with a 120-minute recharge. The manual says the turbo button drains the battery fastest, and no turbo runtime is published. It gives 4.7 lb without the battery, says not to expose the blower to rain or use it on wet surfaces, and puts bystanders at least 15 m (about 50 ft) away. The battery charges at 39 to 104 °F. Greenworks gives three years on the tool and battery to the original purchaser with proof of purchase.

A gas backpack blower for large lots: Husqvarna 360BT

Husqvarna's 65.6 cc two-stroke 360BT gives 30 newtons of blow force and 232 mph and weighs 23.2 lb without fuel. Husqvarna's FAQ calls it more of a commercial-style machine than the 150BT. Its specification table lists 95 dB(A) at the operator's ear, and its manual warns that long-term noise exposure can cause permanent hearing damage. It requires a 50:1 fuel mix, allows ethanol up to 10 percent, and says never to start the engine indoors or where airflow is poor because of carbon monoxide.

Husqvarna's 2026 warranty statement lists two years for consumer use of the 360BT and 90 days for professional use. Its warranty page says to return the product to the dealer you bought it from or a Husqvarna authorized service center, with proof of purchase. Ask Husqvarna how service works for an Amazon order.

What to check before buying

The leaf blower guides here cover battery handheld blowers, a battery sweeper and gas backpack blowers. They note the setting and measuring point behind each CFM figure, give runtime for the setting the maker names, and check whether a battery and charger are in the box. Noise and weight fields on listings are compared with the maker's own figures.

This page collects 17 leaf blower guides from Plain Buy Guides. Each guide covers one exact Amazon listing: the maker's published specifications, what the listing says is included, the fit and installation limits that decide whether it suits you, and the main caveat, with every source listed and dated. Nothing here is based on hands-on testing, and no guide promises a price or stock level.

In the table above, the Best for column says who each model suits, and the strength and caveat columns carry the first point each guide makes. Open a guide before buying to confirm the exact model, the included parts and any conflict between the listing and the maker's documents, which each guide reports rather than settles. Side-by-side pages put the published facts of two models from this category in one place.

Compare the published specs

The main figures stated in each leaf blower guide on this page, side by side, with each guide's sources behind them. Units are as published; nothing here was measured by us.

A table scrolls sideways when it is wider than the screen.

— means the guide does not state that figure. n/a means the figure does not apply to that model. “or” means the guide states more than one figure, for example where two sources disagree, for different modes or versions, or where a kit includes two tools; open the guide to see which applies. † means the guide reports that another source gives a different figure, or doubts the figure; open the guide. Only single figures in the column’s unit, with no mark, word or note in brackets, are sorted and counted below.

By the numbers

These cover only the 17 leaf blowers on this site, not the whole market. Ranges use the figures the guides state; the lowest and highest link to their guides, and the median is the middle of those figures. A model whose figure is missing, not applicable, more than one, marked, in words, in another unit or qualified in brackets is left out of that line.
