Robot vacuums for pet hair: tangle claims, mop options and the upkeep that stays
Pet-hair claims are the makers' own, so read the footnotes
Each maker measures hair pickup and tangling its own way, so the figures below do not compare across brands. Roborock's Q10 page cites a TÜV Rheinland certificate for a 0% pet-hair tangle rate on the side brush. Roborock's Qrevo 2 Pro claims of 0% tangling and 100% hair removal come from its own internal testing with 0.1 g of hair, 7.87 to 15.75 inches long, in vacuum-only modes.
Roborock's footnotes add that actual results may vary. Hair still comes off by hand: the manuals set brush and filter cleaning intervals, and iRobot's asks for the filter to be cleaned twice a week in a home with a pet.
Hair cut at the dock, mops left behind for carpet: Tapo RV50 Pro Omni
TP-Link says the dock's cutting brush trims hair that wraps the brush, and that the robot leaves both mop pads at the dock before vacuuming thick carpet and lifts them 0.47 inches on thinner rugs. The dock empties into a 3 L bag that TP-Link says holds up to 60 days of dirt, and washes the pads in 140 °F water. The dock draws up to 1,200 W while washing mops, and its 5 L clean and 4 L dirty tanks are filled and emptied by hand, about once a week if you mop daily. TP-Link lists an H11 filter and Pet Zones for extra cleaning around bowls and litter boxes.

Anti-tangle brushes and mop removal: Roborock Qrevo 2 Pro
Roborock describes a dual anti-tangle system, with the hair claims footnoted as above. Its Auto Mop Removal leaves the mops at the dock before carpet once you switch it on in the Roborock app, and the dock washes the mops with heated water and dries them with warm air. The dock needs a hard-floor slot at least 1.2 m deep, 0.82 m high and 0.42 m wide. The manual supports only 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and rules out high-pile carpet.

A bagging dock, with mopping by hand: Roborock Q10 S5+
Besides the TÜV side-brush figure, Roborock cites SGS results for dust-bag filtration above 98.1% of cat and dog allergens, and says the bag lasts up to 7 to 10 weeks in its internal testing. The dock empties the bin and charges the robot. Mopping stays by hand: you fill the tank with cold tap water and clean the mop cloth yourself. Roborock says the robot will not work as intended without its app, and the listing says only 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi is supported.

Vacuum only, with no app: eufy RoboVac 11S MAX
This is the one robot here with no mop at all, and eufy's page pitches it for pet hair. It is 2.85 inches tall, has no Wi-Fi or app, runs from a remote and navigates by bouncing off obstacles, with 2000 Pa in Max mode. Nothing empties it for you: the manual says to empty the 0.6 L dust collector after each use and to clean the filters weekly. eufy advises against carpets over 26 mm thick and rugs with tassels.

Other ways to vacuum without the mop
iRobot gives the Roomba 105 Combo a vacuum-only mode, and its owner's guide has you detach the mop pad plate first. iRobot's page lists a hair cutting tool in the box and says the dock's bag traps 99% of allergens as small as 0.7 microns. The Qrevo 2 Pro, the Roborock Saros 10R and the RV50 Pro Omni can leave their mops at the dock for carpet. The ILIFE A30 Pro listing says removing the mop bracket gives vacuum-only cleaning.
Before you buy for a home with pets
- Clear pet mess first. eufy's FAQ lists pet excrement among the things its robot should not vacuum, so check the floor before a scheduled run.
- Station noise. ILIFE's manual asks you to keep its station away from where pets sleep because of the noise.
- Cameras on board. The Roborock Saros 10R and the eufy Omni E25 carry cameras, and Roborock lists pet search and pet snaps for the Saros 10R.

What to check before buying
The robot vacuum guides here measure the space each dock or station needs, and check whether mopping is automatic or a tank you fill and empty by hand. They quote the carpet limits in the manual, compare runtime and tank figures across sources, and note Wi-Fi band, app requirements and how much power a washing dock draws.
- Dock and station space. Manuals ask for clear space around the dock, from 0.5 m each side and 1.2 to 1.5 m in front, and several self-washing docks need a slot about 1.2 m deep. One guide finds a manual's diagram and warning disagreeing on stair distance.
- How mopping works. On several models mopping means filling a tank and fitting or washing a pad by hand. Guides also report hot-wash temperatures measured at the heater output, and manuals ruling out detergent or hot water in the tank.
- Carpet limits. Manuals set pile limits: no high-pile carpet on one model whose maker page shows it lifting for thicker pile, rugs over 18 mm or carpets over 26 mm ruled out on others, and one FAQ advising against medium and long pile.
- Runtime and tank figures. Figures often differ by source. Guides report 216 against 126 minutes for the same mode, an 8 L dirty tank on a page against 2.2 L in the manual, and runtimes that appear only on the listing.
- Wi-Fi, app and power. Several robots need 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and the maker's app to work as intended, while one has no Wi-Fi or app at all. Guides also report washing docks drawing up to 12 A or 1,200 W during hot-water washing.
This page collects 11 robot vacuum guides from Plain Buy Guides. Each guide covers one exact Amazon listing: the maker's published specifications, what the listing says is included, the fit and installation limits that decide whether it suits you, and the main caveat, with every source listed and dated. Nothing here is based on hands-on testing, and no guide promises a price or stock level.
In the table above, the Best for column says who each model suits, and the strength and caveat columns carry the first point each guide makes. Open a guide before buying to confirm the exact model, the included parts and any conflict between the listing and the maker's documents, which each guide reports rather than settles. Side-by-side pages put the published facts of two models from this category in one place.
