Fixed dumbbell set buying guide
Dumbbell set with rack: 150 lb or 210 lb?
Choose by the heaviest individual dumbbell you need. The CAP 150-lb set below stops at 25 lb per hand; the 210-lb set adds a 30-lb pair. Both include an A-frame rack. If you already need more than 30 lb per hand, skip both. For more weight in a smaller stored set, compare the adjustable dumbbell guides.
Sources and exact selected listings checked October 8, 2026. This is a comparison of two CAP rubber-hex kits, not a ranking of every brand. We have not lifted with them or tested rack stability, coating life or weight accuracy.
Which kit fits your weight range?
| Selected kit | Included pairs | Best reason to choose it | Main catch |
|---|---|---|---|
| CAP 150 lb, comfort handles | 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 lb; ten dumbbells and a black A-frame rack. | A fixed 5–25 lb range with no selector mechanism. | No 30-lb pair. More stored pieces than an adjustable pair. |
| CAP 210 lb, chrome handles | 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 lb; twelve dumbbells and a black A-frame rack. | The same five lighter pairs plus 30 lb per hand. | Still stops at 30 lb per hand; the extra pair adds 60 lb to the weights you receive. |
These are rubber-coated six-sided hex kits. A CAP 12-sided set, a silver-rack option, a rack sold alone or a different total-weight option is a different purchase. Check the selected size and handle style after opening Amazon.
150 lb is the whole set, not each dumbbell
The 150-lb total is 2 × (5 + 10 + 15 + 20 + 25). The 210-lb total is 2 × (5 + 10 + 15 + 20 + 25 + 30). You are buying five or six matching pairs, not a 150- or 210-lb pair. Those totals describe the weights; they are not the rack’s shipping weight or an independently verified rack capacity.
If you want a fixed 5–50 lb range in 5-lb steps, that is ten pairs totaling 550 lb. CAP describes a separate 550-lb rubber-hex family with a two-row rack. Neither selected listing below is that kit. We have not qualified a purchase link for the 550-lb kit, so do not use either button to order it.
Check the room and delivery before ordering
- Stored footprint: CAP describes an A-frame rack that stores the weights vertically. We have not verified the assembled footprint of these exact linked rack variants. Confirm it before buying for a tight alcove; leave room to remove and return a dumbbell without trapping your fingers.
- Delivery: CAP’s 150-lb family page says the set ships in multiple boxes. Do not assume every carton arrives together. Count the pairs, rack parts and hardware against the instructions before discarding the packaging; ask the seller about the exact order’s parcel count and handling.
- Assembly and loading: Follow the rack’s supplied instructions and rated capacity. Do not assume a larger CAP kit’s rack or spare weights will fit this one. CAP excludes improper assembly and exceeding recommended capacity from its warranty.
- Floor and storage: Rubber coating does not establish a safe drop height or promise to prevent floor damage. Keep the rack and weights clear of children and pets, and choose a location where nobody must step over loose weights.
A fixed set gives each weight its own handle; an adjustable set keeps unused plates in its trays. Our adjustable comparison covers range, step sizes and each maker’s drop rules. A fixed CAP set also has a drop exclusion—fixed does not mean designed to be thrown down.
The exact Amazon kits
CAP 150 lb: comfort handles, black rack
The selected ASIN is B07V6Z3SWH, model SDPUS-150R-12BIS. Amazon lists five pairs from 5 to 25 lb, rubber hex heads, knurled comfort handles and a vertical A-frame rack. CAP’s current 150-lb product family includes that exact model number in its comfort-handle/black-rack variant data.
Choose this if 25 lb per hand covers your planned use. The 210-lb kit is not a different set of smaller increments; its useful extra is the 30-lb pair.

CAP 210 lb: chrome handles, black rack
The selected ASIN is B0CNBF85SZ, model SDRSIS-210R-16BK. Amazon lists six pairs from 5 to 30 lb, rubber hex heads, knurled steel handles and a vertical A-frame rack. The selected option is the black rack, not the silver-rack listing.
CAP’s 210-lb family page lists the same weight pairs and an A-frame rack, but identifies a different model prefix, SDPUSIS, and describes ergo-grip chrome handles. We use the linked Amazon variant’s SDRSIS model and handle description here; we do not claim those handle variants are identical.

The public listing title covers several total-weight options. Our selected-ASIN checks identified the two kits above and New offers sold by Amazon.com, in stock, on October 8, 2026. Sellers, selected options and availability can change; this is a dated check, not a continuing stock promise.
The short warranty matters
CAP’s current warranty page lists 30 days for dumbbells and for racks and benches, covering defects in material or craftsmanship. Its terms limit coverage to the original purchaser buying directly or through an authorized dealer in the contiguous United States; commercial, rental and other non-home use are excluded. Retain your receipt and ask CAP to confirm coverage for your exact purchase.
Dropping or knocking dumbbells together is treated as misuse. CAP says not to use dumbbells whose heads are becoming loose; a loose head present on arrival must be reported within seven days to be considered a defect rather than misuse. Rack pads, rubber pieces, bolts and nuts are excluded unless missing or damaged in the original box. CAP also requires a return authorization before a warranty return and prepaid shipping to its facility; it does not cover your transportation or labor costs. These are manufacturer warranty terms, separate from Amazon’s current return terms.
Common buying questions
Does the 150-lb set include 30-lb dumbbells?
No. This selected kit includes pairs of 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 lb. The selected 210-lb kit adds a pair of 30-lb dumbbells.
Do these kits include a rack?
Yes. The two selected listings include a black vertical A-frame rack. Match the exact ASIN, total weight and handle style; a rack sold alone or another CAP option is not the same kit.
Can I drop fixed rubber-hex dumbbells?
These sources do not establish a safe drop height. CAP treats dropping or knocking dumbbells together as misuse and excludes resulting damage from its warranty. Rubber coating does not remove that limit.
Is a 550-lb set a pair of 275-lb dumbbells?
No. In CAP’s separate 5–50 lb rubber-hex family, 550 lb is the sum of ten pairs in 5-lb steps. It is not either linked 150- or 210-lb kit, and this guide has no qualified 550-lb purchase link.
