What the W200 is, and which version this listing sells

The Aqara Thermostat Hub W200 is a 4-inch touchscreen thermostat that also works as a smart home hub. Aqara's product page lists two versions: the standard Thermostat Hub W200, model SRT-A06E, and a Matte Kit, SRT-A06D. This listing's model number is SRT-A06E, matching the standard version in Aqara's specification table.

Aqara lists the box contents as the thermostat, a base plate, a trim plate, a guide with wire labels, the user manual, and four screws with drywall plugs. The manual gives the size as 3.94 by 3.94 by 0.98 inches (100 by 100 by 25 mm). Aqara's product page shows 3.94 by 3.94 by 0.89 inches next to the same 100 by 100 by 25 mm figure.

C wire: needed, and the adapter is sold separately

Aqara's product page and the listing say that if your system has no C wire, you add the Aqara C-Wire Adapter, which is sold separately. The troubleshooting guide is firmer: without a C wire or the adapter, the device will not turn on. The manual lists an SSW terminal as the shared signal wire for that adapter.

The troubleshooting guide also warns not to wire the W200 to a high voltage system. The manual lists an operating voltage of 24 VAC and a maximum current of 2.5 A total and 1.0 A per output. Aqara's page lists power input as 24 VAC. We do not reproduce wiring steps here; the manual has them.

Systems it runs, and terminals that rule it out

The manual lists compatibility with furnaces, air conditioners (2 heat/2 cool), heat pumps (2 heat/2 cool plus 2 stages of auxiliary heat), boilers and PTACs. The troubleshooting guide repeats that list and adds fan coil units with 3 fan speeds.

The manual's wiring pages list terminals that make the W200 incompatible: 1, 2, 3, 4; A, B, C, D; Water or H2O; and L1, L2 or 110, 120 and 240 volts. It also marks as not compatible separate O and B wires, W3 and Y3 third stages, S sensor terminals, and fan-speed terminals such as G2, G3, GL, GM, GH and FAN1 to FAN3. That fan-speed entry sits beside the troubleshooting guide's fan coil claim, and neither document explains how the two fit together.

Check your wall wiring against those lists before you buy. The manual also notes that running the fan with auxiliary heat is not an option for boiler systems.

Heat pump and equipment protection settings

The manual's setup asks whether a heat pump is air-source or ground-source, and includes an outdoor-temperature compressor lockout, with an example of 35°F, and an auxiliary heat lockout, with an example of 68°F. It tells you to refer to your HVAC manual for these values.

The manual keeps the compressor off for at least 5 minutes between cycles and recommends leaving that setting at 5 minutes. The troubleshooting guide adds a 5-minute delay when switching between heat and cool, a 2-minute minimum compressor run, and a factory temperature swing of plus or minus 1°F.

Hub, radar, Apple features and doorbell view

Aqara's page describes a built-in Zigbee hub and Matter bridge, a Matter controller, and a Thread border router and mesh extender. Wireless protocols are dual-band 2.4 and 5 GHz Wi-Fi, Zigbee and Thread, and the manual adds Bluetooth. Aqara names Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, Samsung SmartThings and Home Assistant.

The mmWave radar detects presence within 3 metres and a 120-degree field of view, per Aqara's page. The manual and troubleshooting guide say Apple Adaptive Temperature needs version 26 software for every Home member and a home hub on version 26, and the listing says Clean Energy Guidance is limited to the contiguous US. The listing and Aqara's page say its doorbell panel works with Aqara G410 and G400 doorbells, not the G4.

Schedules and warranty

The manual describes a Schedule Assistant for scheduling. It notes that only one ecosystem's schedule can be used, and that a manual temperature change lasts 2 hours by default. Rewiring the device in settings clears previous settings, and with Matter also clears ecosystem settings.

Neither the manual nor the troubleshooting guide nor the product page we read states a warranty length. Ask Aqara or the seller for the warranty terms before relying on them.
