A brushless DIY hammer drill with one 2Ah battery
Amazon lists the kit as the BLD783D1 drill, one LBD2020S 2Ah battery, a 1A charger, a double-ended screwdriver bit and a belt clip. BLACK+DECKER's page describes it as a 20V MAX POWERCONNECT brushless 1/2 in. hammer drill kit with battery and charger.
BLACK+DECKER rates the drill at 486 in-lbs of maximum torque and up to 30,000 blows per minute, and lists a belt clip, magnetic bit holder and soft-grip handle. Amazon adds a 1,900 rpm top speed, two speeds and a 4.09 lb weight; the BLACK+DECKER sources read do not state a speed or weight.
What the 23-holes and 13-percent claims mean
Amazon's listing says the drill makes up to 23 holes per charge. BLACK+DECKER's footnote says that figure was measured with the LBD2020S battery in speed 2 using a 3/8 in. masonry bit in concrete. If a job needs many more masonry holes than that, plan on a second compatible battery, since only one is included.
BLACK+DECKER's claim of up to 13 percent more power compares the BLD783 on the LBD2020S battery against a Bauer 64756 on a 1.5Ah battery, based on maximum watts out. Treat it as the maker's comparison under those conditions rather than a general ranking.
Modes, clutch and speeds from the manual
The manual describes a torque collar with numbers 1 to 10 for screwdriving, a drill symbol and a hammer symbol on the BLD783. Two speeds are selected with a slider: back for speed 1, high torque, and forward for speed 2.
Amazon adds a 1,900 rpm top speed and two speeds; the BLACK+DECKER sources read do not state a speed. For hammerdrilling technique and bit selection, use the manual's operation pages; this guide records the collar settings and speed selector only.
Read the manual's safety notes before long sessions
The manual's drill safety section carries a vibration warning about operating the tool for long periods, with advice on gloves and rests, along with notes that bits get hot and that ear protection is needed. Read those pages before use; this guide does not reproduce them.
Because the manual pages read cover safety notes, the collar and speed selector, the chuck, the bit holder, the belt hook, vent cleaning and the warranty, anything else about drilling capacities or charging should come from the full manual in the box.
Chuck, bit holder and care
The single-sleeve keyless chuck has a spindle lock, per the manual. A magnetic bit holder stores bits on the tool, and the manual lists a belt hook. BLACK+DECKER's page lists the belt clip, magnetic bit holder and soft-grip handle among the drill's features.
Blow dust out of the vents at least weekly, per the manual. The charger manual was not read for this guide, so charging times and indicator lights are not covered here; Amazon's listing gives a wood capacity of 0.38 in. that no BLACK+DECKER source read confirms.
Warranty: two years, plus three more if you register
The manual gives a 2+3 year limited warranty: two years as standard, and an additional three-year limited warranty if you register the product with proof of purchase within 30 days of purchase.
The warranty does not apply to products sold in Latin America. BLACK+DECKER's product page itself only says warranty information varies by product, so keep the receipt and register promptly if you want the longer coverage described in the manual.
