A hammer drill and a bit-and-socket impact tool
Bosch's kit page lists one GSB18V-65 18V brushless 1/2 in. hammer drill/driver, one GDX18V-285 18V brushless two-in-one 1/4 in. and 1/2 in. bit/socket impact driver/wrench, two 18V 2Ah standard power batteries, an 18V charger, two belt clips and a carrying bag. Amazon's list matches and gives the kit weight as 10.08 lb.
The GDX18V-285 is what makes this kit different from a drill and plain impact driver: its manual lists an output that combines a 1/2 in. square drive with a friction ring for sockets and a 1/4 in. hex shank for bits, so one tool covers screws and nuts.
The impact tool's ratings assume a much larger battery
The GDX18V-285 manual lists 0 to 2,000 and 0 to 2,800 rpm, 0 to 3,000 and 0 to 3,600 impacts per minute, 210 ft-lbs of maximum torque and 368 ft-lbs of breakaway torque. Its footnote says these figures were measured with a fully charged Core18V 12.0Ah battery.
This kit ships with two 2Ah standard power batteries. The Bosch documents read do not give figures for the smaller pack, so expect the published numbers to describe the tool on a much larger battery than the one in the box.
Impact tool modes: Auto Bolt Release and Auto Shut Off
The manual lists three working modes for the GDX18V-285: Auto Bolt Release, used in reverse; Auto Shut Off, used in forward; and two speed settings. The manual's operation pages explain when each applies; this guide records the names only.
For tightening, the manual says maximum torque builds after about six to ten seconds of impacting. Because delivered torque depends on the joint and impacting time, use the manual's guidance and check fastenings that must meet a torque value.
The GSB18V-65 hammer drill/driver
Bosch rates the drill at 575 in-lbs and up to 27,000 blows per minute, with 20 clutch settings plus drill mode. Its manual describes the modes, two gear ranges, a brake, an LED and switchable KickBack Control, which shuts the drill off in a sudden bind-up.
KickBack Control can be turned off, shown by a yellow light, but switches itself back on after five minutes or when the battery is removed. The manual also warns about overheating under heavy load; read its drilling tips before masonry work.
Temperatures, service and care
The impact-tool manual lists a permitted battery temperature during charging of 32°F to 113°F, a recommended charging range of 32°F to 95°F, and operation between -4°F and 122°F. Both tools have a secondary latch that stops a loosened battery falling out of the handle.
The drill manual says there are no user-serviceable parts, recommends Bosch factory or authorized service, and suggests having the motor examined every six months. It also lists cleaning solvents to avoid on plastic parts; check that list before cleaning.
Warranty wording comes from the listing
Amazon's bullets and details state that Bosch 18V cordless tools and chargers carry a five-year limited warranty and 18V batteries a three-year limited warranty. The Bosch kit page and the manual pages read for this guide do not print warranty terms.
Confirm the warranty with Bosch or in the paperwork in the box before relying on those periods, and keep your proof of purchase. The listing text also mentions a friction ring for quick socket changes, which matches the output drive described in the impact tool's manual.
