CRAFTSMAN's includes list names only the CMCN621PL framing nailer, and its overview says battery and charger are sold separately; the page data lists 0 batteries and no charger. The Amazon listing's title says bare tool only.
It runs on CRAFTSMAN V20 batteries, a platform CRAFTSMAN says also powers its V20 outdoor equipment and power tools. The page lists a rafter hook and VERSATRACK compatibility, with the VERSATRACK clip and accessories sold separately.
Nails and magazine
The manual lists 21 degree full round-head nails from 2 to 3-1/4 in., .113 to .148 in. across, in smooth or ring shanks, and a loading capacity of up to 49 nails. That tops out 1/4 in. shorter than the 3-1/2 in. limit of the two Metabo HPT framing nailers in this hub (our comparison).
CRAFTSMAN says it drives 3-1/4 in. round-head nails into laminated veneer lumber. The manual adds that in harder wood the tool may stall: the jam/stall light flashes, you turn the stall release lever, and the tool stays disabled until the battery pack is removed and reinserted.
Sequential firing only
The manual lists sequential as the firing mode. For each nail you press the nose against the work, which starts the motor, pull the trigger, release it and lift the nose. The manual says sequential mode gives the most accurate nail location.
The manual says the trigger lock-off should be engaged whenever you make an adjustment or the tool is not in use. A dry-fire lockout stops the tool when about 4 nails remain in the magazine.
Depth, care and weight
Depth is set with a wheel on the nose: left for shallower, right for deeper, with the battery pack removed and the trigger lock-off engaged. The manual says never to spray or apply lubricants or cleaning solvents inside the tool.
The manual gives 8.8 lbs and a length of 13.75 in. CRAFTSMAN's page data lists an assembled product weight of 10.75 lbs and a length of 17.8 in., without saying what they include. The manual says to keep the tool out of direct sunlight, as heat can wear its bumpers and rubber parts.
Warranty
CRAFTSMAN's page lists a 3-year limited warranty. The manual says CRAFTSMAN repairs or replaces defects in materials or workmanship for three years from purchase, two years for batteries, and that the warranty does not cover normal wear or tool abuse.
The manual also gives a 90-day money-back guarantee with a receipt. It says the nailer is designed for driving nails into wooden workpieces and is not for use in wet conditions.
