CRAFTSMAN CMXEVBE17595 16-Gallon Wet/Dry Vacuum

A larger rolling drum with a wide hose and drain

Consider the 16-gallon CRAFTSMAN when a large drum, 2½-inch hose and oversized drain fit your storage and emptying setup. Use the manual's model-specific accessory table: the product page currently contains a misplaced five-gallon kit list. A loaded large tank can be difficult to lift safely.

Fit and limits

Strengths

  • Large nominal drum reduces capacity limits relative to compact models
  • Drain offers an alternative to lifting a tank full of liquid
  • Wide hose and model-specific wet/car/utility tools are documented

Caveats

  • Large loaded drum requires a safe route for moving and emptying
  • Current product-page included list describes the wrong model
  • Crevice tool and muffler are absent from the 16-gallon manual kit

A large drum needs an emptying plan

The CMXEVBE17595 offers a nominal 16-gallon drum, a 2½-inch hose and an oversized drain. It suits a buyer who wants more container volume and has space for a larger rolling vacuum. The maker notes that drum volume is not guaranteed collection capacity. Plan where the loaded machine will roll and empty: the manual specifically warns against lifting a vacuum that is heavy with liquid or debris.

Use the 16-gallon kit list, not the misplaced one

The current product page's Includes section describes a five-gallon vacuum and a 1⅞-inch hose, despite the correct 16-gallon heading. The shared official manual's 16-gallon column instead lists two wands, utility, wet and car nozzles, a disposable bag and a Qwik Lock filter. The current Amazon kit agrees on those main items and specifies a 7-foot, 2½-inch hose. A crevice tool and muffler are not included in that manual column.

Dry cleanup and liquid pickup are different setups

For dry material, the manual requires the filter in its correct position and notes that fine dust can require more frequent emptying and filter cleaning. A damp filter clogs quickly during dry pickup. These instructions do not establish hazardous-dust suitability; do not treat a large tank or high peak-HP label as a substitute for equipment approved for the material.

For liquids, the manual permits the filter to remain for small amounts but recommends removing it for larger amounts. The filter cage and float must remain in place. Stop, unplug and empty when the float cuts off airflow; do not keep running at cutoff. Follow this model's complete instructions rather than copying another brand's foam-filter changeover procedure.

What the hose and horsepower labels tell you

The 2½-inch Dual-Flex hose is a different accessory size from compact vacuums using 1¼- or 1⅞-inch tools. Confirm adapters and tool fit rather than assuming compatibility. CRAFTSMAN describes 6.5 peak HP as a laboratory peak rating, not a continuous-output measurement. We have not measured suction or cleanup time, and the current product table's unusual 246-inch cord figure is not independently corroborated here.
