One drill, one 8Ah battery, a charger and a side handle

DEWALT's kit page lists a DCD1007 20V MAX XR brushless 1/2 in. three-speed hammer drill, one DCB2108 20V MAX XR 8Ah battery, a charger, a side handle and a belt hook. There is no impact driver and no bag named. The single large battery suits long drilling sessions, but there is no second pack to swap while one charges.

DEWALT gives the kit as 10.35 lb and 14.8 in. long; Amazon lists 9.9 lb. Amazon's details name the charger as a DCB118 fan-cooled fast charger; DEWALT's page says only charger. Confirm the charger on the box if charge speed matters, since the DEWALT source read does not name the model.

Battery model differs between DEWALT and Amazon

DEWALT's include list names a DCB2108 20V MAX XR 8Ah battery. Amazon's details table names the battery model as DCBP2108 and labels it XR POWERPACK. These are different model codes in the two sources, and neither explains the difference. Check the label on the pack you receive if you are matching it to other kits or warranty paperwork.

The distinction matters for DEWALT's performance claims. The kit page's figures of up to 275 holes per charge and a 2.6-second application speed were measured with a DCB2108 battery, so treat them as maker test results for that battery.

A high-torque drill the manual says to hold with both hands

DEWALT and the listing rate the DCD1007 at 2,100 in-lbs of maximum torque, with a 2,000 rpm maximum, 38,250 blows per minute and eleven clutch settings. The manual calls it a high-torque drill and says to always operate it with the side handle installed.

Its ANTI-ROTATION system is described in the manual. The manual states that there is no clutch action in drill or hammer mode, so a binding bit produces a sudden twist, which is why the side handle rule matters.

Capacities: ignore the listing's half-inch wood figure

Amazon's details table gives a wood drilling capacity of 0.5 inches. The DCD1007 manual's maximum recommended capacities are much larger: 1-1/2 in. auger and paddle bits, 1 in. twist, 3-5/8 in. self-feed and 5 in. hole saw in wood; 1/2 in. twist, 4 in. hole saw and a #9 step bit in sheet metal; a 1 in. carbide cutter in plate steel.

For masonry the manual lists 1/2 in. carbide percussion bits. For metal it recommends starting slow, using cutting lubricant except on cast iron and brass, and drilling a pilot hole first for holes of 5/16 to 1/2 in. in steel.

Worklight, cleaning and repair notes

The LED has off, on and twenty-minute modes, per the manual. The manual's worklight page carries the handling notes for using it as a light, which we did not record in detail.

The manual asks you to blow dust out of the vents with dry air at least weekly. It states that the worklight, charger and battery are not user-serviceable, so any fault in those parts goes to a service center.

Warranty: the kit page field is blank

When read, DEWALT's DCD1007WW1 kit page said warranty information was currently unavailable. The DCD1007 manual carries a three-year limited warranty heading that points to DEWALT's warranty page for terms and excludes products sold in Latin America. Amazon's details list a three-year limited warranty, one year of free service and a ninety-day money-back period.

Because the kit page itself is blank, confirm coverage with DEWALT or on the packaging for the kit you receive. The manual's warranty page points to DEWALT's terms, so read those before relying on the free-service year.
