Caveats
- The 135 mph air speed appears only in the listing's details table and in neither DEWALT document read here.
- It is a bare tool, so a 20V MAX battery and charger are additional purchases before it will run at all.
- The manual restricts it to dry conditions and away from flammable liquids or gases, and describes an inflator/deflator attachment the listing never mentions.
A bare tool, and DEWALT is clear about what that means
The DCE100B is the tool-only version of DEWALT's compact jobsite blower. Its own product page carries a bare tool notice saying the item does not include a battery or charger, and the listing title says bare tool only. What ships is the blower and three nozzle attachments, and both documents give exactly that list.
Air movement is quoted the same way in three places: 100 CFM maximum airflow on DEWALT's feature list, in the listing's bullets and overview table, and as the single specification line printed in the manual, which reads DCE100, 20V MAX, 100 CFM. DEWALT's DCE100B page lists that same instruction manual, N434654 for the DCE100, in its downloads.
DEWALT's specification panel names a brushed motor and 20 volts, and the footnote on the same page explains the voltage convention: maximum initial battery voltage measured without a workload is 20 volts, and nominal voltage is 18. The listing's overview repeats the 20-volt figure without that qualification.
The 135 mph figure comes from one field and nowhere else
The listing's details table carries two speed entries, Maximum Speed and Speed, and both read 135 miles per hour. That figure appears nowhere else in the documents read for this page, so it is worth knowing where it does and does not come from.
Neither DEWALT document repeats it. The DCE100B product page gives airflow in CFM and lists no air speed anywhere in its features or its visible specification panel, and the manual's one specification line gives only the model, the voltage and the 100 CFM figure.
That does not make the figure wrong, but it does mean it is not confirmable from either maker document read here. If air speed is what decides your purchase, ask DEWALT for the figure in writing rather than treating the listing field as a maker specification.
Three speeds, a variable trigger and a lock-on
The control set is simple and both documents describe it the same way. A variable speed trigger changes airflow as it is squeezed, so output rises from minimum to maximum across the trigger's travel, and releasing it fully switches the blower off.
A separate three-speed toggle switch sets the ceiling. The manual explains that the toggle fixes the maximum airflow that can be reached when the trigger is fully depressed, pushing it up for more air and down for less, so the trigger works inside whatever limit the toggle has set.
The lock-on button holds the trigger for continuous running, and the manual says pulling the trigger again releases it. DEWALT's page lists a trigger lock-on among its features, and the listing's bullet says the lock-on reduces fatigue.
Three nozzles on the listing, an inflator and deflator in the manual
Both DEWALT's page and the listing say the same thing about what is in the box: three nozzle attachments, with no further description of what they do. Neither document names them individually or says what each one is for.
The manual is more specific and describes more than the listing does. It names an extension attachment, an end attachment and an inflator/deflator attachment, and it identifies a separate deflator intake on the tool.
The manual says attachments fit by lining up pegs with notches and turning to lock, then pulling to confirm they are seated. If inflation or deflation is part of why you want this tool, confirm with DEWALT which of the three supplied nozzles is the inflator/deflator attachment before you buy, because neither the listing nor the product page says.
Where DEWALT says not to use it, and the upkeep it asks for
The manual's intended-use statement describes the tool as designed for professional blowing applications and calls it a professional appliance. It says not to use it in wet conditions or where flammable liquids or gases are present, and it carries further conditions on who may use it, which are in the manual.
The listing's own application list is tuck pointing and cleaning joints, clearing debris from the ground or overhead, and clearing a work area, which matches the professional framing in the manual. DEWALT's own overview repeats ground and overhead debris clearing.
Upkeep is light but not nothing. The manual asks for the air vents to be blown clear of dirt and dust weekly, says to clean non-metallic parts only with a cloth dampened with water and mild soap and never with solvents or harsh chemicals, and states that the charger and battery pack are not serviceable. The manual also sets out the protective equipment and operating procedure it requires; those are not reproduced here, so read the manual before first use.
Warranty: three years, a free service year, and 90 days to change your mind
The listing's warranty field says three year limited manufacturers warranty and stops there. DEWALT's product page gives the full package in one line: three year limited warranty, one year free service, and 90 days satisfaction guaranteed, and the manual spells out what each of the three means.
The three-year limited warranty covers repair at no charge for defects in materials or workmanship from the date of purchase. The manual excludes part failure from normal wear and from abuse of the appliance, and also excludes accessories and any damage where repairs have been made or attempted by others.
The free service year is separate: DEWALT says it will maintain the appliance and replace parts worn by normal use, at no cost, at any time in the first year. Battery packs carry their own free-service terms by catalogue number, and DEWALT states the product warranty is void if a battery pack is tampered with. The 90-day money-back guarantee needs a receipt, and the manual says the warranty does not apply to products sold in Latin America.
