What the HPW3204-2 kit is

HPW3204-2 is EGO's kit number for its POWER+ 3200 PSI cordless pressure washer sold with two 56V 6.0Ah ARC Lithium batteries and a 320W charger. EGO's configurations table lists the same machine without batteries or charger as HPW3200, and the operator's manual linked from the kit page is written for HPW3200 and HPW3200-FC.

EGO's page lists the accessories: a 25-foot high-pressure hose, a siphon hose, a quick-connect short gun, a quick-connect wand lance, a stainless steel wand, a foam cannon, a filter, and 15, 25 and 40 degree, turbo and rinse nozzles. The manual's packing list adds a nozzle cleaning needle, holder brackets and screws.

The manual gives the machine's weight as 36.2 pounds without batteries. The Amazon details table gives an item weight of 65.6 pounds, which does not match EGO's figure.

3200 PSI, and why flow is quoted two ways

EGO rates the washer at up to 3200 PSI. Its flow is given as 1.2 GPM with 2.0 GPM maximum, and the manual explains the split: 1.2 GPM is with the quick-connect lance and stainless wand fitted, and 2.0 GPM is with only the short pressure gun connected.

EGO's page says its Peak Power technology combines any two 56V ARC Lithium batteries, and the listing ties the 3200 PSI figure to Peak Power. The manual says the washer takes up to two batteries at a time.

Speed is chosen on the machine or the gun between low, high and Turbo, shown as one, two or three green lights. The manual says the washer always starts at high speed and recommends low speed when using detergent.

One battery or two: what changes

The manual says the washer runs on one or two batteries, but with one battery Turbo speed is not available. EGO's manual strongly recommends using two batteries of 5.0Ah or more. The kit's two 6.0Ah packs meet that.

EGO quotes up to 60 minutes of runtime on one charge of the two included 6.0Ah batteries. The manual notes that running at Turbo continuously may affect runtime per charge. The fuel gauge shows the charge of whichever installed battery is higher.

Two practical notes from the manual: if the washer is powered on but not used it switches itself off after five minutes of standby, and an internal cooling fan may keep running for a while after power-off. EGO also says to remove the batteries whenever the washer is not in use.

Water source, water quality and the gun remote

The washer can run from a garden hose, which is not included, or draw water from a bucket through the included siphon hose. The manual tells you not to start it without a water supply connected, and says doing so can damage the seals and shorten pump life.

The manual also says never to use hot water or water from pools or lakes, and warns against using hard water, which it says can cause limescale and blockages. It asks you to follow local rules on connecting to the drinking-water supply, and it gives minimum hose specifications when a backflow preventer is fitted.

The short gun can be paired with the machine to act as a remote, and speed can be set from either the washer or the gun; the manual covers pairing. EGO's page describes handheld pressure control with battery status. The manual lists an IPX5 rating that is valid only when the battery compartment is properly closed.

Care, storage and winter

EGO's recommended operating temperature is 41 to 104 degrees Fahrenheit and storage temperature minus 4 to 158 degrees. The manual includes an end-of-use draining sequence for the hoses and machine; this page does not reproduce it, so follow the manual before storage.

For freezing weather, the manual has a winterizing section that uses a pump protector, sold separately, and it also describes periodic descaling. The manual sets out both routines in full; this page does not reproduce them, so read those sections before the first frost.

For detergent, the manual says to use only detergents made for pressure washers. It gives a maximum detergent temperature and recommends running the washer at low speed when using detergent.

Warranty and who this suits

EGO's page lists a 5-year limited tool warranty and a 3-year limited battery warranty, and the listing gives the 5-year tool figure. The manual's warranty section says the period for each product is published on EGO's warranty-policy page, covers defects in material or workmanship for the original purchaser from an authorised EGO retailer, and requires the original dated receipt.

The manual's exclusions include rental use, accident, abuse, misuse, liquid contact, operation outside EGO's instructions, lack of maintenance, cosmetic damage and normal wear. It also mentions that an authorised service centre may ask for a refundable deposit.

This kit suits someone who already uses, or wants, EGO 56V batteries and needs a washer that can run from a bucket where there is no outdoor tap. It suits you less if your water is hard, or if you expect Turbo from a single battery.
