What is in this kit
This listing is the ElitePRO S1200 thermostat in white bundled with one wireless room sensor, part number YTHX1200W5/U. Resideo's pro product page shows the same SKU and lists the contents as the S1200 thermostat in white, a wireless indoor sensor, the UWP wall plate, a cover plate with J-box adapter, hardware and literature. Both Resideo guides list YTHX1200W5 as the white S1200 with room sensor.
The listing names the included sensor as C7189R3010, and Resideo's page lists the C7189R3010-2 two-pack as the sensor this thermostat is for use with. Resideo's overview says room priority works with Redlink 3.0 sensors and that additional sensors are sold separately. Both Resideo guides list the thermostat alone as THX1200W5 in white and THX1200B6 in black; this listing is the white thermostat plus one room sensor.
Professional installation and the warranty
The S1200 user guide states a 5-year limited warranty and adds that, as a trade product, the warranty may be void if it is not installed by a professional. The installer guide warns that the product must be installed by a trained, experienced HVAC professional.
Resideo's page lists the warranty as 5 years and does not repeat the installation condition. The user guide points to resideo.info/US-Warranty-THERMOSTAT for terms, which we did not read. We do not give wiring or setup steps here.
Stages and systems
Resideo's page lists up to 4 heat/2 cool heat pump or 3 heat/3 cool conventional, for residential or light commercial 24 VAC systems including gas, oil and electric warm air, hydronic, fan coil units and PTACs, and IAQ control. Its overview adds compatibility with dual fuel, fan-coil, PTAC and radiant systems. Modes are heat, off, cool, auto and emergency heat, with auto or manual changeover.
Resideo's overview lists an optional equipment interface module (EIM). The installer guide says kits sold with the EIM cannot be wired without it; this kit is the room sensor version, not an EIM kit.
Power and connectivity
Resideo's page lists power as hardwired with a C wire required. The installer guide says that where there is no C wire or spare wire and the old thermostat used both Y and G wires, the THP9045A C-wire adapter, sold separately, may be used; Resideo lists that adapter among the accessories.
The installer guide lists Bluetooth Low Energy, dual-band 2.4 and 5 GHz Wi-Fi, Redlink at 900 MHz and radar at 61.5 GHz, and gives input ratings of 24 V, 60 Hz, 0.11 A in its specifications and 2.6 VA in its wiring section.
Air quality, occupancy and doorbell view
Resideo's overview says the S1200 controls up to 2 IAQ devices and monitors indoor humidity, VOC and estimated CO2. It lists an onboard radar sensor, and says advanced occupancy detection requires the Auto Away feature to be enabled.
The user guide covers the First Alert by Resideo app, room priority using the wireless sensors, humidity and ventilation menus when IAQ control is set up, live video from First Alert VX1 or Ring doorbells, and Matter. Heat setpoints run from 40°F to 90°F and cool from 50°F to 99°F unless an installer has set range-stops.
Size and display
Resideo lists a 5-inch diagonal touchscreen with display language selectable for English, French or Spanish. The listing gives the thermostat as 0.96 by 5.24 by 3.54 inches and 1.03 pounds.
The user guide lists seven idle-screen styles to choose from. Resideo's page also describes Pro-IQ benefits, which it says require the installer's Pro-IQ enrollment, so ask your installer whether they apply.
