Two brushless LXT tools, two 5.0Ah batteries and a fast charger
Makita's flyer for the XT269T, whose UPC matches the Amazon listing, lists an XPH12Z compact brushless 1/2 in. hammer driver-drill, an XDT13Z brushless impact driver, BL1850B 5.0Ah batteries, a DC18RC Rapid Optimum Charger and a tool bag. Makita's product page and Amazon both state two batteries.
The flyer gives a battery charge time of 45 minutes. Makita rates the hammer driver-drill at 4.2 lb with battery and the impact driver at 3.3 lb with battery; Amazon lists the whole kit at 13.01 lb. The flyer lists XPT on the hammer driver-drill and does not claim it for the impact driver.
The XPH12 hammer driver-drill, from its manual
The XPH12 manual lists two speeds, 0 to 500 and 0 to 2,000 rpm, and 0 to 7,500 and 0 to 30,000 blows per minute. Makita's flyer rates maximum torque at 530 in-lbs. Amazon's description says 530 ft. lbs. in one sentence; Makita's flyer and Amazon's own bullets both say inch-pounds.
Capacities in the manual are 1/2 in. in masonry, 1/2 in. in steel and 1-1/2 in. in wood, plus wood screws up to 3/8 by 3-1/2 in. and M6 machine screws. The clutch has 21 torque levels, and the manual lists drilling, hammer drilling and screwdriving modes on one ring. Overall length is 7-1/8 in.
The XDT13 impact driver
Makita's flyer lists the XDT13 at 0 to 3,400 rpm and 0 to 3,600 impacts per minute with 1,500 in-lbs of maximum torque and 3.3 lb with battery. We did not read the XDT13 manual, so accessory limits and any modes are not covered here beyond what the flyer states.
Both tools use Makita's 18V LXT slide-style batteries. The XPH12 manual lists the standard battery cartridges for the drill, so other Makita 18V LXT packs from that list can be used as spares if you already own them.
Handling and protection rules in the manual
The manual says to hold the drill with one hand on the grip and the other on the bottom of the battery. The manual lists drilling, hammer drilling and screwdriving modes on one ring, and 21 torque levels on the clutch.
The tool stops itself on overload, overheating or a low battery; overheat protection for the battery works only with star-marked batteries. If you run the drill continuously until a battery is discharged, the manual asks you to let the tool rest for 15 minutes before continuing with a fresh battery.
Drilling tips and care from the manual
The manual's drilling pages carry Makita's guidance for masonry, metal and wood screws, which we did not record in detail, so read them before the first hole. The capacity table above is the figure to plan around.
For cleaning, the manual says never to use gasoline, benzine, thinner, alcohol or similar products. The manual's maintenance page carries the service instructions, which we did not record in detail.
Warranty length differs by source
Amazon's details list a three-year limited warranty. The XPH12 instruction manual read for this guide prints a Makita limited one-year warranty covering defects in workmanship and materials, requiring the complete tool to be returned freight prepaid to a Makita factory or authorized service center, and excluding repairs by others, normal wear, abuse and alterations.
The sources do not explain why the terms differ. Before relying on three years of coverage, confirm the current warranty for the XT269T with Makita or on the documentation in the box, and keep your proof of purchase for any claim.
