This kit has Milwaukee's brushed 2607-20 hammer drill, 2656-20 impact driver, 2625-20 HACKZALL saw and 2735-20 work light, with two 3.0Ah XC batteries, a charger and a bag. The manual rates the drill for 5/8 in. masonry. Milwaukee's own pages disagree on some drill and driver figures, so rely on the manual.

Four M18 tools, two 3.0Ah batteries and a bag

Milwaukee's kit page lists a 2607-20 M18 1/2 in. hammer drill/driver, a 2625-20 M18 HACKZALL one-handed recip saw, a 2656-20 M18 1/4 in. hex impact driver, a 2735-20 M18 work light, two 48-11-1828 M18 REDLITHIUM 3.0Ah XC batteries, a 48-59-1812 M18/M12 multi-voltage charger, a thin kerf blade and a contractor bag. Amazon's bullets name the same tools, batteries and charger.

Amazon's title says tool case, while Milwaukee lists a contractor bag. Milwaukee gives the kit weight as 21.32 lb; Amazon's details show 3 lb, which does not match. Amazon's part-number field also adds 48-11-1852, a code that does not appear in Milwaukee's in-box list, so check the battery labels when the kit arrives.

Brushed motors throughout the drill and driver

Milwaukee's tool pages list the 2607-20 drill and the 2656-20 impact driver with brushed motors. Milwaukee's kit page for the 2695-24 gives the kit a maximum torque of 1,400 in-lbs, so this is a brushed-motor set rather than one of Milwaukee's brushless lines.

The 2656-20 page lists up to 2,750 rpm, 3,450 impacts per minute and 1,500 in-lbs of fastening torque, a 5.5 in. length and 2.3 lb without battery. Milwaukee's kit page gives a maximum torque of 1,400 in-lbs instead; the difference is not explained, so treat 1,400 to 1,500 in-lbs as the maker's stated range.

Hammer drill specifications from the manual

The manual lists the 2607-20 at 0 to 450 and 0 to 1,800 rpm, 0 to 7,200 and 0 to 28,800 blows per minute, and capacities of 1/2 in. in steel, 1-1/8 in. flat bits, 1 in. augers and 2-1/8 in. hole saws in wood, 1/4 in. screws and 5/8 in. in masonry. An application collar selects hammer, drill or drive modes.

Milwaukee's 2607-20 web page is less consistent: its features line says 0-400/0-1,800 rpm while its spec table says 0-450/0-1,800, and the table lists maximum torque as 1500 ft-lbs, which does not match the 500 in-lbs stated in the same page's overview. Use the manual's figures when comparing drills.

Side handle and masonry notes

The manual's parts diagram marks the side handle as not included and says to buy the appropriate accessory handle from Milwaukee if your drill did not come with one. It tells you to use a side handle with high-capacity packs: one page says 8.0Ah or higher, another says 9.0Ah or higher. The kit's 3.0Ah packs are below both figures.

For masonry, the manual lists a 5/8 in. capacity with carbide bits, says not to use water on carbide bits, and warns not to drill through steel reinforcing rods. The manual's collar selects hammer, drill and drive modes, and the manual gives 0°F to 125°F as the operating temperature.

The HACKZALL saw and upkeep

Milwaukee lists the 2625-20 HACKZALL at 0 to 3,000 strokes per minute with a 3/4 in. stroke, a QUIK-LOK blade clamp and a weight of 4.1 lb. The kit page adds a thin kerf blade to the box, so the saw can be used on arrival.

The drill manual's maintenance section recommends returning the tool, battery and charger to a Milwaukee service facility for inspection every six to twelve months depending on use. The manual's care page carries the cleaning instructions, which we did not record in detail.

Warranty: five years on tools, batteries separate

Milwaukee's kit page lists a five-year tool warranty and three years on the batteries. The drill manual's five-year limited warranty covers defects in material and workmanship, with an exclusions list that includes battery packs and reconditioned product, and it applies to products sold in the USA and Canada.

The manual says the tool warranty excludes cordless battery packs and reconditioned products, so the batteries fall under the separate three-year term Milwaukee's kit page gives. Read the manual's warranty page for the claim process, which we did not record in detail.
