What Milwaukee lists in the 2697-22CT box

Milwaukee's kit page lists six items: an M18 1/2 in. hammer drill/driver 2607-20, an M18 1/4 in. hex impact driver 2656-20, two M18 Compact REDLITHIUM 48-11-1815 batteries, an M18 and M12 multi-voltage charger 48-59-1812, and a contractor bag. The specs table marks the kit as not brushless.

Milwaukee gives the kit as 12.59 lb and 17.6 by 4.8 by 10.7 in.; its specs table also lists 3.3 lb excluding the battery and 4.9 lb with batteries, without naming the tool. The Amazon listing's details table gives a 3.3 lb weight and a 1.5 Ah battery, a capacity Milwaukee's page does not state.

Model numbers differ between Amazon and Milwaukee

Amazon's bullets say the kit includes a 2602-20 hammer drill driver and a 2650-20 impact driver with a one-hour charger. Milwaukee's in-the-box list names the 2607-20 and 2656-20, while the overview paragraph on the same page names the 2607-20 and a 2657-20, which the impact manual describes as a two-speed model.

The listing also names Builders World Wholesale Distribution as the manufacturer field. Because three different impact driver numbers appear across these documents, check the nameplates on the tools when the kit arrives and compare them with Milwaukee's in-the-box list before relying on model-specific figures or making a warranty claim.

Hammer drill speeds, torque and capacities

The 2607-20 manual lists two speeds, 0 to 450 and 0 to 1,800 rpm, with 0 to 7,200 and 0 to 28,800 blows per minute, and eighteen clutch settings. Milwaukee's kit specs table instead gives 0 to 2,100 rpm, and Amazon gives 0 to 550 and 0 to 1,700 rpm with 29,000 blows per minute.

Milwaukee's overview rates the drill at up to 525 in-lbs of peak torque, while Amazon says 450. The manual's capacities are 1/2 in. in steel; 1-1/8 in. flat bits, 1 in. augers and 2-1/8 in. hole saws in wood; 1/4 in. screws; and 5/8 in. in masonry using carbide-tipped bits in hammer mode.

No side handle in the box

The drill manual's functional description lists the side handle as not included, and Milwaukee's in-the-box list does not include one. The manual says a side handle must always be used with a 9.0 Ah or larger battery pack, so a larger pack later would also mean buying a handle.

The listing gives the included packs as 1.5 Ah, and Milwaukee's page names them as compact 48-11-1815 packs. The drill manual also notes that the number on the torque selector collar has no effect in drill mode or hammer mode.

The impact driver and its operating range

The impact manual lists the 2656-20 at 0 to 2,750 rpm and 0 to 3,450 impacts per minute with a single speed; the two-speed control belongs to the 2657-20. Milwaukee's kit overview rates the impact driver at up to 1,500 in-lbs, while its own specs table and Amazon both say 1,400 in-lbs.

The manual gives a recommended ambient operating temperature of 0°F to 125°F, and advises checking fastener tightness with a hand torque wrench. Bits load into a 1/4 in. hex chuck and are released by pulling the ring, and the manual also lists an LED, a belt clip and an electric brake.

Care, inspection and warranty conditions

Both manuals ask owners to return the tool, battery pack and charger to a Milwaukee service facility for inspection after six months to one year, depending on use. Clean the vents of dust and use only mild soap and a damp cloth, since the manuals list solvents to avoid.

The manuals give a five-year limited warranty on the tools for the original purchaser, with freight-prepaid return to a service center and a copy of proof of purchase. Battery packs carry a separate warranty; Milwaukee's kit page lists two years for the batteries and five years for the charger. The impact manual's normal-wear exclusions include chucks.
