Ninja DZ201 Foodi 8-Quart DualZone Air Fryer

Two foods with separate cooking settings and coordinated timers

Consider the DZ201 when two four-quart zones fit your meal better than one larger basket. Smart Finish coordinates finish times and Match Cook copies settings, but Air Broil has one-zone restrictions. Allow generous operating clearance and plan to clean both baskets when both are used.

Fit and limits

Strengths

  • Two separate zones can use different settings
  • Smart Finish helps coordinate serving time
  • Match Cook simplifies matching batches across the baskets

Caveats

  • No single broad eight-quart cooking compartment
  • Air Broil cannot run in both zones or use Match Cook
  • Wider working setup and two used baskets increase space and cleanup needs

Eight total quarts is two smaller compartments

The DZ201 divides its eight-quart total into two four-quart baskets, each with its own cooking zone. Consider it when two foods need different settings, such as a main item and a side. The baskets do not combine into one wide eight-quart space. A large item must fit a single compartment, and a total-capacity comparison can conceal that constraint.

Smart Finish coordinates timers, not doneness

Smart Finish lets the two zones use different settings while ending together; the shorter program waits before starting. Match Cook copies one zone's settings to the other for matching batches. Neither function establishes that the food is cooked through, so check each food appropriately rather than relying on synchronized beeps. The supplied series manual also limits Air Broil to one zone and excludes it from Match Cook.

Plan around the body and the open drawers

Ninja's exact-model FAQ lists dimensions of 15.63 inches long, 13.86 inches wide and 12.4 inches high, with a weight of 17.86 pounds. The listing-linked manual calls for six inches above and on all sides during use. You also need working room to remove and handle the baskets safely. Measure the intended operating space, not just an empty shelf where the machine could be stored.

Two baskets mean two sets of cooking parts to clean

The series manual allows dishwasher cleaning of the baskets and crisper plates, while recommending hand washing the baskets to extend their life. Cool and unplug the appliance before cleaning, and keep the main unit out of water and the dishwasher. A second basket may make meal timing easier, but it does not remove the need to clean both used compartments.

Ninja's FAQ recommends an even layer with no overlapping for consistent browning, plus shaking as needed. Do not read the eight-quart label as permission to crowd both baskets to the top. This guide does not claim measured cooking speed when both zones are running or transfer observations from European DualZone models to the US DZ201.
