This listing is a 22-inch gas walk-behind mower with a 170cc four-stroke OHV engine and rear-wheel self-propel. The listing gives the model as DB8622S and the part number as DB8622S-101020390, which is the SKU of the With Rear Discharge Chute version on PowerSmart's V8622S product page.
PowerSmart's page and the manual it links both use the name V8622S, and the manual does not mention DB8622S. The barcode on PowerSmart's page for this variant also differs from the listing's UPC. Quote DB8622S-101020390 when you contact PowerSmart.
PowerSmart rates the mower for yards up to about half an acre. Its FAQ says minimal assembly is needed, attaching the handle and adding engine oil before first use, and the listing says no tools are required.
What comes in the box
The manual's packing list names the grass catcher, two cable clips, a spark plug wrench, the user manual, a funnel and a bottle of 10W-30 oil. PowerSmart's product page lists the grass catcher, a cable clip and the manual, plus a rear discharge chute for the black variant only.
The manual's packing list does not mention the rear discharge chute, while PowerSmart's page does for this variant. Check for it when you unpack and contact PowerSmart if it is missing.
The manual says the engine ships without oil or gasoline. It recommends 10W-30 oil, SF class, and warns against oils with additives or two-stroke oil. Follow its filling and starting steps; this page does not repeat them.
Clipping modes and cutting heights
The listing, PowerSmart's FAQ and the manual describe three modes: mulching, rear bagging and rear discharge. One bullet on PowerSmart's product page says mulch or rear-bag only. The manual's rear discharge mode runs with both the grass catcher and the mulch plug removed.
Both maker documents give six cutting heights from 1.5 to 3.9 inches, and the manual describes a single height lever. One listing field says the maximum is 3 inches, which does not match the maker's figure or the listing's own bullet.
The manual advises never cutting more than 2 inches of grass in one pass, and keeping the underside of the deck clean. Its troubleshooting section notes that wet grass will not mulch.
Weight, capacities and wheels
Three sources give three weights: 68 pounds on the listing, 69 pounds on PowerSmart's page and 75 pounds in the manual's technical data. None explains the difference.
Both maker documents list a 0.21-gallon fuel tank, 16.9 fluid ounces of engine oil, 7-inch front wheels and 10-inch rear wheels. PowerSmart's page gives the grass catcher as 15.9 gallons, while the manual says 1.4 bushels.
The listing and PowerSmart's page mention an auto choke and recoil start. The manual's troubleshooting table refers to pressing the primer bulb, and PowerSmart's page and the manual do not explain how the two fit together on this model.
Maintenance schedule and storage
The manual calls for an oil check before each use and the first oil change at 5 hours or the first month, then every 50 hours or six months, or every 25 hours under heavy load or high outside temperatures. It says the throttle is preset for bagging and mulching and that changing the engine's governed speed voids the engine warranty.
The air filter needs more frequent service in dusty conditions, and the fuel line is checked every two years. The manual also has a deck cleaning procedure; this page does not reproduce those steps, so follow the manual when you clean the deck.
For storage of 30 days or more, the manual says to drain the fuel, and the limited warranty excludes fuel-system damage caused by neglected storage preparation. Follow its storage section; this page does not reproduce the steps.
Two-year warranty terms
The manual's warranty is two years from purchase for the original purchaser, for home use. Professional or commercial use cuts coverage to 90 days.
Drive belts, blades and grass bags are listed as normal wear parts and are not covered. Carburettor problems caused by stale or contaminated fuel are also excluded.
To claim, the manual says to return the entire product with transportation prepaid and a legible copy of the original receipt showing the purchase date and seller.
