Vacmaster VOC508S 1101 Stainless 5-Gallon Wet/Dry Vacuum

A smaller stainless tank with three extension wands

Consider this model for its stainless five-gallon nominal tank, rolling base and three-wand kit. Confirm reach before ordering: the maker and Amazon give different combined lengths, and the maker's air-watt figures also conflict. The manual clearly identifies separate dry cartridge and wet foam filters.

Fit and limits

  • Three wands and three cleaning-tool types are documented
  • Separate dry and wet filters are included

Caveats

  • Combined reach conflicts: maker 14 feet versus Amazon 16 feet
  • Maker prose and specification image disagree on air watts
  • Smaller tank limits capacity before emptying

Choose the tank and accessory format first

The VOC508S 1101 is a five-gallon nominal stainless-steel wet/dry vacuum with a carry handle, castors and onboard storage. Consider it when you prefer a metal container in a smaller rolling format. Stainless construction alone is not a promise of greater suction or longer life, and the advertised tank volume is not the amount available for pickup during use.

Three wands and a 1¼-inch accessory family

The exact-model manual lists three extension wands, a floor-brush/squeegee nozzle, a utility nozzle and a crevice tool. It identifies the hose and accessories as 1¼ inches in diameter. That matters when reusing tools from another vacuum: larger 1⅞- or 2½-inch accessories should not be assumed to connect directly. Check both the connection and the working length you need before buying extras.

Reach and power figures need confirmation

The current maker page advertises 14 feet of combined hose-and-cord reach, while the Amazon listing says 16 feet. Its product text gives 135 air watts, but its own specification image shows 200. We cannot establish a single current value from those conflicting sources. Confirm the exact package if reach or a numerical performance comparison determines your purchase; this guide does not rank the model using either air-watt figure.

Separate wet and dry filters are supplied

The manual lists a cartridge filter for dry pickup and a foam filter for liquids. It says to unplug before changing filters, remove the cartridge for wet pickup and install the foam filter. After wet use, empty, clean and dry the tank as directed. A float cuts off suction when liquid reaches the specified level; nominal five-gallon capacity is not a promise of five gallons of usable liquid pickup.

The manual warns against flammable, explosive and toxic materials. Neither a stainless tank nor basic wet/dry filtration makes this a hazardous-material extractor. Read the complete instructions for the model before use, and choose equipment explicitly suited to the material rather than relying on a generic shop-vac label.
