A two-knob personal heater with nothing to read or program
This is about as simple as a modern heater gets. The manual's appliance description lists five parts: a front grill, a power indicator, a thermostat knob, a power knob and a tip-over switch on the base. There is no display, no remote, no timer and no oscillation. The listing's details table gives the model as DQ1927-Y and the part number as DQ1927-Y-BLACK, and names Amazon as the manufacturer.
The manual's specification table gives 120 V AC at 60 Hz, a power consumption of 1500 W, a net weight of about 2.2 pounds (1 kg) and dimensions of roughly 7.48 by 9.45 by 6.30 inches. Amazon's table gives the same three measurements in a different order and 2.14 pounds, while one of the listing's bullets says three pounds. The two documents agree closely; the bullet is the outlier.
The manual states the intended use plainly: the heater is intended for temporarily heating residential rooms, and solely for indoor, non-commercial use. It is a spot heater for one person at a desk, not a room's heating system.
Three settings on one knob, and a thermostat with no numbers
The power knob has four positions: off, ventilation only with no heating, heating on low, and heating on high, which the manual labels 1500 watts. The listing says the low setting is 900 watts; the manual does not print a figure for low, so that number comes from the listing alone.
The thermostat knob is marked only with a plus for maximum temperature and a minus for minimum. There are no degrees on it. The manual's routine is to turn the thermostat fully clockwise to start the heater, let the room warm up, then turn it slowly anticlockwise until the heater stops. From then on it cycles on and off around that point, and the manual says cycling is normal; if you want it to stop cycling, you turn the thermostat up. Amazon's table lists a maximum temperature setting of 130 degrees Fahrenheit, which does not appear anywhere in the manual we read.
There is a genuine contradiction inside the manual itself. Its opening warning says the heater is not equipped with a device to control the room temperature, and tells you not to use it in small rooms occupied by people who cannot leave on their own unless someone is supervising. Four pages later the same manual describes a thermostat control that maintains a preset temperature. That warning is standard text for heaters without room-temperature control, and it does not match the thermostat knob this model has. Treat the supervision instruction as the binding one, because it is the more cautious reading.
Three feet in front, and nowhere damp
The manual asks you to keep combustible materials such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes and curtains at least three feet (0.9 m) from the front of the heater, and to keep them away from the sides and rear. Because this heater is small enough to sit on a desk, that three-foot zone is easy to break with papers or a curtain without noticing.
It must sit on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface and be used upright. Do not use it on soft surfaces such as a bed where the openings can be blocked, and do not cover it. It is not intended for bathrooms, laundry areas or similar indoor locations, never where it could fall into a bathtub or other water container, and not outdoors. The listing carries the same message in capitals in its own bullet.
Two placement rules are easy to miss. The heater must not be located immediately below a socket-outlet, and its plug must go into an easily reachable outlet, because the manual treats pulling the plug as the way to switch the appliance off completely in an emergency. Do not operate it with wet hands or while standing on a wet floor.
Wall outlet only, and no way to extend the cord
The manual repeats the standard instruction in its own bullet: always plug heaters directly into a wall outlet or receptacle, and never use with an extension cord or relocatable power tap, meaning a power strip. Amazon's table gives the draw as 12.5 amps at 120 volts, which is what a 1500-watt heater pulls, so this wants a circuit with nothing else heavy on it.
Other cord rules follow: do not run the cord under carpeting or cover it with throw rugs or runners, do not route it under furniture or appliances, do not squeeze, bend or chafe it on sharp edges, keep it away from hot surfaces and open flames, and never pull the plug out by the cord or wrap the cord around the appliance. Turn the appliance off before unplugging it, and unplug it when it is not in use and before cleaning.
Before the first use, the manual asks you to check that the supply voltage and current rating on your outlet match the rating label on the heater, and warns that a slight smell or smoke on the first run is manufacturing residue burning off; ventilate the room while that happens.
Tip-over and overheat, and the 30-minute wait
Both protections are described in the manual and both are self-resetting, but they behave differently. The tip-over switch shuts the heater off automatically when it is tipped over, and the heater resumes normal operation as soon as it is stood back upright.
The overheat shutdown also cuts the heater off automatically, but the manual's operation notice tells you to unplug the appliance and let it cool for at least thirty minutes before using it again, and to make sure the heater is clear of all obstructions first. The troubleshooting page repeats the thirty-minute cool-down and the clear-the-obstructions step as the fix for a heater that will not run.
Neither the listing nor the manual pages we read names a safety certification mark for this model, so there is no ETL or UL claim to repeat here. The manual also says the appliance has no user serviceable parts, that you must never open the casing, and that any servicing beyond cleaning belongs to a professional repair centre.
Wipe it down, watch the plastic, and a one-year warranty
There is no filter and nothing to replace. Cleaning is a soft, slightly damp cloth, wiped dry afterwards, with no corrosive detergents, wire brushes, abrasive scourers or metal utensils, and no immersing the electrical parts or holding the appliance under running water. Store it somewhere cool and dry, away from children and pets, without the cord wrapped around it.
One maintenance instruction is unusual and worth acting on: regularly check the plastic parts for signs of warping, and stop using the heater if any plastic part has melted or warped. On a 1500-watt appliance with a plastic body, that is a check worth doing at the start of each winter.
The warranty is Amazon's standard private-brand cover: one year for Amazon Basics products, running from the date of your original retail purchase, to the original purchaser only, and not transferable. It covers defects in materials and workmanship under ordinary use, and excludes anything subject to accident, misuse, neglect, fire or damage from other external causes, alteration, repair or commercial use. Amazon's remedy is to replace the product with a new or refurbished equivalent or to refund the purchase price, at its option; there is no repair option, and Amazon states that a replacement may not be identical or offer the same functions.
