Three tri-band Wi-Fi 7 routers, and what is in the box
This ASIN is the three-pack of the eero Max 7, sold on Amazon under the eero Store name in one, two, three and four packs. The listing gives the 3-pack contents as three eero Max 7 routers, three 45W USB-C power adapters and one Cat6a Ethernet cable. eero's support article adds that in each box the power supply and cable sit under the eero, beneath a cardboard insert.
Each unit measures 7.24 by 8.73 by 3.54 inches (184 by 222 by 90 mm) in eero's comparison article, and the listing gives the same 7.24 by 8.73 by 3.54 inches. eero lists the placement as sitting on a flat surface, used as a gateway or extender.
The listing gives the power supply as 45W external USB-PD on 100-240V AC, an operating range of 32°F to 104°F (0°C to 40°C), a quad-core A73 processor, 2 GB of RAM and 4 GB of flash storage. eero's support article asks you to place the unit in a central location away from anything that would cause interference, such as mirrors and glass tables.
Four Ethernet ports per unit, two of them 10 GbE
Each eero Max 7 has two auto-sensing 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports and two auto-sensing 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet ports, according to eero's support article and the listing, which describes all four as usable for WAN or LAN. eero says the unit is compatible with internet plans up to 10 Gbps.
eero's figures are wired speeds up to 9.4 Gbps and wireless speeds up to 4.3 Gbps, stated in both the support article and the comparison article. The listing gives a BE20800 rating, ten spatial streams, and a 2x2 radio on 2.4 GHz with 4x4 on both 5 GHz and 6 GHz, which eero's support article describes as a 2x4x4 antenna array.
eero's Ethernet article says eeros can be connected by Ethernet backhaul or wirelessly, and that a home already wired with Ethernet should use those connections. It asks for Cat5e, Cat6 or Cat6a cable, connected either to a switch back to the gateway or as a daisy chain. The listing bullet also mentions multi-gigabit backhaul speeds.
Coverage and device counts, and one figure that differs
eero's support article says a single eero Max 7 covers up to 2,500 sq ft (232 m²), and that range may be reduced depending on placement and building materials. eero's comparison article gives the same 2,500 sq ft per device, and the listing's 7,500 sq ft for three units follows from it.
The supported device count is stated two ways. eero's support article says each unit can connect 250+ devices, and the listing's 750+ for three units matches that. eero's own Mesh Wifi Product Comparison article gives 200+ devices for the eero Max 7. Neither page explains the difference; if a large device count is why you are buying, ask eero which figure applies.
eero's shop page says the model is for busy networks, multi-gig internet speeds, an advanced smart home with many devices, and especially large coverage areas. The comparison article's disclaimer says coverage estimates are based on normal use conditions.
Encryption, smart home and Alexa features
The listing's security row gives WPA2-PSK and WPA3-Personal transition mode, alongside WMM, transmit beamforming and OFDMA. It also lists device and profile pause, band steering, automatic channel selection and password sharing.
eero's support article lists Works with Alexa, a Zigbee-compatible smart home hub, Thread compatibility, and Smart Home Hub support that is Matter compliant. The listing specifies Zigbee and Matter as a controller only, Thread, and Bluetooth Low Energy 5.0, and the shop page says the hub lets you control Thread, Zigbee and Matter-enabled devices with Alexa.
The listing's Works with Alexa row notes that an Alexa device is not included. The shop page lists Advanced Security, Ad Blocking, Parental Controls, Malwarebytes, 1Password and a VPN powered by Guardian as features of the separate eero Plus subscription.
Mixing with older eeros and the app requirement
eero's shop page says the Max 7 is fully compatible with all generations of eero. The support article's answer is more specific: combining eero Max 7 devices with older-generation eero devices on the same network may result in reduced performance, and eero recommends using the same generation across your network.
Setup and management are through the eero app. The listing requires a supported iOS or Android device and internet service, with a cable, DSL or fiber ONT modem if required, and the shop page says the app guides you through setup.
The listing says new customers are eligible for eero Plus free for 30 days, and that eero Max 7 is subject to the disclaimers at eero.com/legal/disclaimers. We did not open that page.
Three-year warranty and returns
The listing states a 3-year limited warranty in two places, and eero's shop page shows a 3-year warranty badge. Neither document gives the terms; the listing points to eero.com/legal/disclaimers, and we did not open that page or eero's warranty page.
eero's shop page also shows 30-day returns, free shipping and free support for purchases made from eero. Those are eero store terms, so check the seller and condition of the offer you select on Amazon before relying on them.
eero's support article for this model does not state a warranty period of its own, so the 3-year figure here rests on the listing and the shop page badge. If the warranty length decides the purchase, confirm it with eero.
