What the kit includes
Bosch's includes list names the GOP18V-34 tool, a CORE18V 4 Ah battery, an 18V standard charger, two 1-1/4 in. plunge cut blades, a 4 in. segmented saw blade, a 2 in. rigid scraper, a delta sanding pad, a five-pack of sanding paper and a carrying bag. The Amazon listing's model field reads GOP18V-34B14.
Bosch lists 2.7 lb without saying whether that includes the battery. The battery is part of Bosch's AMPShare system, which Bosch says works with Bosch 18V tools and a growing list of other AMPShare brands.
Speed dial and arc
A dial presets one of six speeds. The manual's chart gives 10,000, 13,000, 14,000, 16,000, 18,000 and 20,000 OPM for settings 1 to 6, and an oscillating arc of 3.4 degrees, the same figure as Bosch's page.
Bosch's page says the brushless motor gives power and speed comparable to corded multi-tools and up to 80 percent less vibration than its previous 18V multi-tool; those are Bosch's comparisons, not ours. The manual describes a soft start and electronics that hold the preset speed under load.
Starlock accessories
The tool uses Bosch's Starlock mount. Per the manual it takes Starlock (OSL) and StarlockPlus (OSP) accessories but not StarlockMax (OSM), and Bosch says to use only Bosch accessories rated 21,000 OPM or more.
To fit an accessory you press the tool onto it until the holder's jaws snap in, without opening the lever. Opening the release lever ejects the accessory. Bosch says Starlock changes are 8 times faster than its standard OIS mount, which is Bosch's claim.
Switch, light and protection
A slide switch on top of the motor housing has two forward positions: the first turns on only the LED work light, and the second runs the tool with the light. Sliding it all the way back turns both off.
If the tool is overloaded or the battery gets too hot, the manual says the speed drops or the tool switches off, and full speed returns once the battery cools or the load eases. Bosch turned the battery 90 degrees, which it says leaves less in the way when flush cutting.
Uses and warranty
Bosch's manual lists dry sanding of surfaces, corners and edges, scraping, sawing soft metals, wood and plastic components, and grout removal with the accessories Bosch recommends.
Bosch's page and warranty page cover 18V cordless tools for 5 years and 18V batteries for 3 years, for purchases from June 1, 2023 on. The manual refers you to Bosch's warranty site for the terms.
