What the kit includes
Dremel's scope of delivery lists the MM35 tool, an MM482 bi-metal flush cut blade, an MM14 hook-and-loop pad, three MM70P and three MM70W sanding sheets, and a storage bag. The Amazon listing's title and model field read MM35-02.
Dremel's page and the Amazon listing describe the sheets as three wood and three paint sanding pads. Dremel lists a 3.5 amp, 120V motor and a 7 ft. rubber cord.
Speed: page against manual
Dremel's page and the Amazon listing give a variable speed range of 10,000 to 23,000 OPM. The MM35 manual gives a no-load speed of 10,000 to 21,000 per minute, and its chart for the ten-position dial tops out at 19,000 to 21,000.
The manual says lower outlet voltage slows the tool, especially at the lowest setting, and that it may not start on the lowest setting where outlet voltage is under 120 volts. Dremel lists a 3.2 degree oscillation angle.
Changing accessories
The Easy-Lock clamp needs no wrench or hex key. You loosen the clamping knob, press it to open the flange, seat the accessory on all the pins, release the knob and then tighten it fully.
Scrapers and blades can be mounted straight or at an angle. The manual says to use only Dremel accessories rated 21,000 OPM or more, and that the tool must be used only with Dremel accessories.
What it is for
Dremel's manual says the tool is meant for sanding and cutting wood, plastic, plaster and non-ferrous metals, and suits work close to edges, in tight spaces and flush cutting.
For flush cuts it suggests resting the blade on scrap tile or wood and protecting delicate surfaces with cardboard or masking tape. Grout blades come in 1/16 and 1/8 in. widths, and the manual says to measure the joint first; neither is in this kit's list.
Power and warranty
There is no battery: the MM35 runs on 120V through its 7 ft. cord, with a slide on/off switch on top of the motor housing.
Dremel's page lists a two-year limited warranty, and the manual gives two years from the date of purchase. The manual says not to return the tool to the place of purchase but to package it by itself and return it, freight prepaid, with a copy of your dated proof of purchase.
