What the kit includes
DEWALT's includes list names the corded tool, its oscillating tool guide system, three blades (wood with nail, fast-cut wood and semi-circle), a sanding pad, 25 sheets of sandpaper, an accessory storage box and a contractor bag. The Amazon listing's title and model field both read DWE315K.
DEWALT's feature list and the Amazon listing also name a universal accessory adaptor for most other brands' accessories, though the includes list on DEWALT's page does not show it as a separate item. The manual fits non-DEWALT accessories with the adaptor's washer and a nut tightened with a hex wrench.
Motor, speed and switch
DEWALT lists a 3 amp motor, and the manual's Spanish specification block gives 120 V, 3.0 A, 300 W and a no-load rate of 22,000 per minute; DEWALT's page data also lists 22,000 oscillations per minute. Speed is set by the dual-grip variable speed trigger: the further you press it, the faster the tool runs.
A lock-on button holds the trigger down for long jobs, and pressing the trigger again releases it. The LED worklight comes on with the trigger. If the tool overheats, especially at low speed, the manual says to run it at maximum speed with no load for 2 to 3 minutes to cool the motor.
Changing accessories
The quick-change clamp needs no wrench or hex key: you squeeze the accessory clamp lever, slide the accessory in so it engages all eight pins on the holder, and release the lever. The manual notes that scrapers and blades can also be mounted at an angle.
The sanding platen is diamond shaped and takes hook-and-loop sheets. The manual says to press a new sheet against a flat surface and run the tool briefly so it grips, and to rotate the sheet when its tip wears.
Depth and cut guide
The guide block fixes to a side mount on the tool with a supplied screw and hex wrench. With the guide arm in the front slot it works as a depth guide that stops a cut at a set depth, and in the side slots it helps you track a marked line.
The guide arm can also stand vertically to set the height of a cut, per the manual. DEWALT lists detail sanding, plunge cutting, flush cutting, removal of excess material and surface preparation as intended uses, and the manual says not to use the tool in wet conditions.
Weight and warranty
DEWALT's page data lists an assembled product weight of 6.25 lbs without saying whether that is the tool alone or the kit, and a brushed motor.
DEWALT's page gives a three-year limited warranty, one year of free service and a 90-day satisfaction guarantee, and the manual states the same three terms. The manual's warranty does not apply to accessories.
