De'Longhi TRD40615E Dragon Digital Oil-Filled Radiator Heater
A well-insulated room of at least 43 sq ft with a free outlet on its own circuit

A sealed oil-filled radiator with a digital panel and wheels
The TRD40615E is De'Longhi's Dragon digital oil-filled radiator, which the support page calls the Dragon4. De'Longhi's specification block lists six fins, three power settings from 700 to 1500 watts, 120 volts at 60 Hz, a room thermostat, a safety thermostat, castors and power cable storage, and its feature list adds Eco Plus and anti-freeze. The listing says the oil is sealed in and never needs refilling.
De'Longhi gives the dimensions as 16.4 by 10.3 by 26.1 inches and the weight as 25.61 pounds; the listing repeats the dimensions but says 26.6 pounds. At that weight the wheels matter. De'Longhi's page calls them pre-assembled Smart Snap wheels needing no installation, while the manual says to fold them out by turning them outwards and then stand the radiator upright.
The listing's included-components field names only the heater. No remote is mentioned in the sources we read; the manual's controls are on the heater itself. The listing's details table also states a 23-foot cable length, a figure that appears in neither De'Longhi document.
Three power levels, a thermostat and an ECO mode that picks for you
The manual describes three power levels, MIN, MED and MAX, and a thermostat you set in one-degree steps from 50 to 82 degrees Fahrenheit (10 to 28 Celsius). A coloured indicator shows what the heater is doing: red, yellow and green for the three power levels.
The ECO function lets the heater choose its own power level. The manual says it cycles through the levels at or below whichever one you selected, so with MAX chosen it can step from MAX to MED to MIN to off, while with MIN chosen it only switches between MIN and off.
Other controls are a key lock, three display brightness levels, and a switch between Fahrenheit and Celsius. The manual adds that after a power cut or unplugging, the heater always comes back off, and that when you switch it on again it resumes the settings you last used.
Anti-freeze, the timer, and two listing figures that differ
Setting the thermostat to 41 degrees Fahrenheit (5 Celsius) turns on anti-freeze mode. The manual says the heater then switches on at full power only if the room drops below 41 degrees, and power levels cannot be changed while it is in that mode. De'Longhi's page pitches this as a way to help keep pipes from freezing.
The timer works both ways. With the heater off you can set a delayed start; with it on you can set a delayed stop. The manual gives the range as half an hour to 24 hours, and pressing the timer button twice returns the heater to running without a timer.
The listing contradicts itself on two points. Its bullets say anti-freeze starts below 41 degrees, as the manual does, but its description says 44 degrees. Its bullets claim 75 percent more radiant surface than De'Longhi's RadiaS, while its description says 25 percent. The manual gives 41 degrees; neither radiant-surface figure appears in the De'Longhi documents we read.
Three feet from the front and top, and no smaller than 43 square feet
The manual asks for combustible materials to be kept at least three feet (90 cm) from the front and the top of the radiator, and for anything to be kept from touching its sides and back. It also says not to place it near a bed and never to cover it.
Two location rules are easy to miss. The radiator must not sit directly below a power outlet, and it must not be used in a room smaller than 43 square feet (4 square metres). It is not for bathrooms, laundry areas or outdoor use, and the manual says to keep flammables away from it.
De'Longhi's product page adds its own limit: the heater is only suitable for well-insulated spaces or occasional use. Its specification block also shows a working capacity of 23.2 square feet, with no explanation. We could not reconcile that number with the manual's 43-square-foot minimum room size, so ask De'Longhi before relying on either as a coverage figure.
A wall outlet with nothing else on the circuit
The manual rules out extension cords and outlet strips; the radiator must be plugged directly into a polarized 110 to 120-volt outlet. It also says no other appliance should be plugged into the same outlet or into another outlet on the same circuit. Plan the room around a circuit that nothing else is using.
The manual says a warm plug is normal but a hot or deformed one is not. It also says to keep the cord out from under carpet and not to wrap it around the heater straight after use.
The manual's first-use section covers checking for shipping damage and leftover packing material between the fins, and an initial run on maximum for at least two hours with the room ventilated. It says creaking sounds on that first run are normal. It also notes that if the heater ever leaks oil, you must stop using it and contact service.
Alarms, cleaning and a warranty the sources disagree on
The manual lists two display alarms. A probe failure alarm means calling De'Longhi customer service. A high-temperature alarm means the radiator is reducing its own power, and the manual says to check that it is not covered. Separately, a safety device switches the heater off if it overheats, and the manual sends you to customer service when that happens.
Care is light. The manual's maintenance section calls for a soft damp cloth on a cool, unplugged heater, with no detergents or abrasives, and dry storage with the cord on its holder. It says not to open the radiator and not to attempt repairs yourself.
The warranty is where the sources split. The manual on the listing, printed with a 2013 code, gives one year from purchase for the original purchaser, with transport to the service centre prepaid by you. The listing says three years, and De'Longhi's US site carries a banner advertising a three-year warranty while also saying warranties vary by product. The sources we read do not settle which term applies to a unit bought today.
