Tool only: what is in the box
DEWALT's includes list names the DCH293 rotary hammer, a 360 degree side handle and a depth rod. Its page data lists no battery, no charger and no case, and the Amazon listing's model field reads DCH293B.
DEWALT's page data lists an assembled product weight of 9.15 lbs without saying whether that includes a battery. The page data also marks the DCH293B as tool only, so you add a 20V MAX battery and charger.
Impact energy, speed and modes
DEWALT lists 3.5 joules of impact energy from a brushless motor in an L-shape body. Its page data lists 1,000 rpm, and the manual's Spanish specification line gives 0 to 1,000 rpm.
A dial sets rotary drilling for steel, wood and plastics, rotary hammering for concrete and masonry, or hammering only for light chipping. The manual says not to change modes while the tool runs.
E-Clutch and vibration control
DEWALT's page says the Anti-Rotation E-Clutch system stops the bit's rotation in bind-up situations. The manual describes it as sensing the tool's motion and reducing motor torque to a manageable level, with an indicator that lights when it engages; you release the trigger and the tool then works normally.
DEWALT also lists SHOCKS Active Vibration Control, which it says reduces vibration at the handles compared to rotary hammers without it. That is DEWALT's comparison, not a test of ours.
Light, hook and bits
A worklight comes on with the trigger and turns off shortly after release, and the manual says it is not meant as a flashlight. A utility hook pulls out below the main handle, but the manual says not to suspend the tool overhead or use the hook for tethering.
SDS Plus bits go about 3/4 in. into the holder and lock when pushed and turned. DEWALT's page says the tool meets OSHA Table 1 when used with its on-board extractor, which is not in the includes list.
Uses and warranty
DEWALT names structural connections, beam and column anchorage, rod hanging, seismic and safety attachments, cable tray and strut mounting, and steel stanchion mounting as uses.
DEWALT's page gives a three-year limited warranty, one year of free service and a 90-day satisfaction guarantee. The manual prints the same three-year warranty and 90-day guarantee, but two years of free service.
