DEWALT claims the 6-1/2 in. blade cuts 2 times material at 90 and 45 degrees and gives more cuts per charge, without saying what it is compared with. The manual says to set depth so half a tooth projects below the material, which keeps blade friction to a minimum and clears sawdust from the cut.
Bevel and kerf
The bevel adjusts from 0 to 50 degrees on a quadrant marked in 1 degree steps, set with a knob on the front of the saw, per the manual. DEWALT's page data lists a right bevel of 50 degrees.
The kerf indicator lines up with the left (outer) side of the blade, so the kerf falls to the right of the indicator; the manual says to guide along the pencil line so the kerf falls in the waste.
Blade changes and switch
The Amazon listing mentions a keyless blade change, but DEWALT's manual describes changing the blade with a blade wrench while pressing the blade lock button. The includes list on DEWALT's page names no wrench, though the manual's component list shows a blade wrench. The clamping screw has left-hand threads and turns counterclockwise to tighten.
The manual warns never to engage the blade lock while the saw is running, or to use it to stop the saw. You press the lock-off button before pulling the trigger, and the trigger cannot be locked on.
