What the kit includes
DEWALT's includes list names the 20V MAX XR brushless 7-1/4 in. circular saw, a DCB2108 8Ah battery, a DCB1106 charger, a blade change wrench and a 24-tooth blade. The Amazon listing's title and model field both read DCS590WW1.
DEWALT's overview puts the blade to the right of the motor, with a top handle. The page data lists 15.05 lbs for the assembled product without saying what that covers.
Power and runtime claims
DEWALT calls it its most powerful 20V MAX circular saw, at up to 1,700 MWO, which its footnote marks as a rated figure. It lists up to 5,500 rpm no-load.
DEWALT also claims up to 368 cuts per charge, footnoted as 2x6 SPF using the DCB2108 battery that comes in this kit. These are DEWALT's figures, not ours.
Depth, bevel and brake
Maximum depth of cut is 2-9/16 in. at 90 degrees and 2 in. at 45, per DEWALT's page, and the manual repeats the 2-9/16 in. figure. The bevel runs from 0 to 57 degrees, and the shoe clicks and stops at 22.5 and 45 degrees.
An automatic electric brake is designed to stop the blade from coasting after you release the trigger, per DEWALT's page. The manual says the lock-off button re-engages on its own each time the trigger is released.
Light, hook and dust
The LED work light comes on with the trigger and stays on for up to 20 seconds after release; the manual says it is not meant as a flashlight. A hang hook holds the saw between uses, but the manual warns not to hang it from your body, tether it or suspend it overhead.
The dust port is optional and works with DEWALT's AirLock system or a standard 35mm extractor, sold separately. The saw is also ready for a TOOL CONNECT chip, also sold separately.
Uses and warranty
The manual says these saws are designed for professional wood cutting, and warns not to cut metal, plastic, concrete, masonry or fiber cement materials, or to use abrasive wheels or water feed attachments.
DEWALT's page lists a three-year limited warranty for this kit. The manual points to dewalt.com/support/warranty for the full terms, and says you can request a written copy from DEWALT customer service by mail or phone.
