A 5kWh, 134.5-pound wheeled unit with 240V output
The Explorer 5000 Plus is Jackery's 5,040Wh lithium iron phosphate power station, model JE-5000A, about 134.5 lb with wheels and a wheel brake. This listing is the unit alone; no solar panel is included. The manual's package list is the unit, an AC charging cable, the user manual and an MC4 wrench.
The manual gives dimensions of 16.5 by 15.5 by 25 inches, and Jackery's page matches; the Amazon table lists 14.1 by 14.7 by 18.6 inches, which conflicts, so measure your space against the manual's figure. Battery Pack 5000 Plus expansion units, the Smart Transfer Switch and solar panels are sold separately.
7,200W at 120V or 240V from one unit
The manual rates total AC output at 7,200W with a 14,400W surge. The NEMA L14-30R and NEMA 14-50 outlets supply 120V/240V at 30A and up to 7,200W. The four NEMA 5-20 outlets are rated 120V and 20A, and the product overview groups them in pairs, each pair limited to 3,600W.
Other outputs are two 100W USB-C ports, two 18W USB-A ports and a 12V/10A cigarette-lighter port. The manual notes that the L14-30R and 14-50 outlets cannot be used in bypass mode while the unit is charging from a wall outlet, and that between 5°F and 14°F maximum output drops to 3,600W.
UPS: 20 ms by default, 0 ms only in online mode
Jackery's page advertises true 0 ms UPS switching. The manual explains that backup UPS is the default and switches within 20 ms. Online UPS, enabled in the Jackery app or by pressing the DC and AC buttons together, gives 0 ms switching, but only on the NEMA 5-20 outlets and only up to 3,600W.
The manual adds that the system returns to backup UPS mode if the unit restarts while in online mode, so check the setting after any restart. Energy Saving Mode is on by default and turns outputs off after 12 hours when AC load is 25W or less and USB or car loads are 2W or less; switch it off for small always-on devices.
Charging: wall, two solar voltage ranges and car
Wall charging is 120V at up to 15A; Jackery's page says its 1.7-hour charge time was achieved through the Smart Transfer Switch. The high-PV MC4 input accepts 135 to 450V at up to 15A and has its own switch, which the manual says must be off or locked when connecting panels or using the supplied MC4 wrench.
Two low-PV DC8020 ports accept 16 to 60V at 10.5A each, 21A and 1,200W combined, each taking one 500W or three 200W Jackery panels, with matching panels on both ports. Car charging uses 12V sockets at 11 to 16V and 8A, with the engine started first.
Expansion, temperatures and parallel use
The manual says one unit supports up to five Battery Pack 5000 Plus units, with at least 200 mm between unit and pack. The 60kWh figure on the listing and page is not explained in the manual; Jackery's page notes that running two units in parallel requires the Smart Transfer Switch.
Charging is rated 32°F to 113°F and discharging 5°F to 113°F. The manual lists 4,000 cycles to 70%-plus capacity, and Jackery's page says its 11-year figure is a theoretical cell life based on those cycles. The page quotes 30 dB in Quiet Mode and 51.7 dB at full load, measured at one meter.
Warranty: five years, with conditions
The manual gives a 60-month standard warranty for the original buyer with proof of purchase from Jackery's website, Jackery-branded third-party platforms or local authorized dealers, and says a two-year extension requires an additional fee. Jackery's page footnote says the five-year warranty is exclusive to buying directly from jackery.com, which conflicts with the manual's wording.
The manual excludes the battery cell unless you fully charge it within seven days of purchase and at least once every six months after, and excludes purchases through online auction houses. Amazon's field says five years; confirm with Jackery that your seller qualifies before relying on it.
