The size is published the right way round
LEVEL8 gives one set of numbers for the 20-inch carry-on and states explicitly that they include the handle and the wheels: 14.5 inches long by 9.2 inches wide by 21.5 inches high, 7.7 pounds, 40 litres. The Amazon bullet repeats exactly the same figures and uses the same wording about wheels and handles.
That is worth more than it sounds. Many carry-on listings publish only the packing body and leave you to add the wheels yourself. Here the maker's number is already the number a gate agent's sizer would measure, so you can put it straight against the carry-on limit your airline publishes for the aircraft you are flying.
LEVEL8 also lists an 18-inch version of the same case at 13.7 by 9.2 by 20.2 inches, 7.1 pounds and 39 litres. The two sizes are nearly the same volume, so if your airline's limit is tight the smaller shell costs you about a litre of packing space rather than a meaningful amount.
Shell and finish: what each document actually claims
LEVEL8's page describes the material as German-made Makrolon polycarbonate and says the surface carries a specialised diamond pattern engineered to minimise visible scratches. The Amazon bullet describes the same case as a three-layer polycarbonate hard shell. Amazon's Materials & Care table records material type polycarbonate and shell type hard.
Neither document gives a thickness, an impact rating or a test standard behind the scratch claim, so treat the diamond texture as a finish that hides marks rather than a measured level of protection. Amazon's table lists the water resistance level as water resistant, which is a lower claim than the waterproof wording that appears in LEVEL8's marketing panel further down its own page.
One small thing to be aware of when you go looking for this bag on LEVEL8's site: the page heading calls it the Luminous Textured Carry-On while the browser title calls it the Elegance 20-inch carry-on. The variant data on that page carries the part number LA-1688-02T00 that matches the listing, which is how we tied the two together.
Wheels and handle: the two sources give different counts
This is the clearest disagreement between the documents. LEVEL8's own product page lists four durable 360-degree spinner wheels with an anti-shock design. The Amazon listing bullet says eight quiet universal spinner wheels, and Amazon's Features & Specs table records number of wheels as eight.
The handle count differs too. LEVEL8 describes a three-step aluminium telescopic handle with a swing range of less than one centimetre. The Amazon title and bullet both describe a four-level adjustable aluminium telescopic handle. We are not going to decide which is right, and neither should you on the strength of a page like this one.
If either detail matters to you, ask LEVEL8 about part number LA-1688-02T00 before ordering. Wheel count in particular changes how a case behaves, since a four-housing case with paired wheels and a case with four single wheels roll differently and wear differently. The maker also claims its wheels show less than 2 mm of abrasion after 276,000 circles, which is its own test figure and not something verified here.
Lock, interior and what is not offered
Both documents agree on the lock: a TSA-approved combination lock built into the case, which Amazon's table records as lock type combination lock. That is the one security feature named, and neither source describes a separate zipper-security or anti-theft zip design.
The interior is a split case. LEVEL8 describes a fully lined interior with a divider and two zipper pockets; the Amazon bullet describes two fully lined compartments with zippered mesh pockets, and Amazon's table counts two sections and two pockets. LEVEL8's marketing panel mentions an X-Strap compression system, which the Amazon bullets do not name for this model.
Neither LEVEL8 nor the listing describes any expansion on this case, so what you see is what you pack. There is also no charging port or battery pocket named in either document, and no maximum load in pounds is published for the bag.
The warranty page contradicts itself, and the channel matters
LEVEL8's warranty page says in one paragraph that LEVEL8 offers a lifetime warranty covering any functional damage to the shell, wheels, handles, zippers or anything else that impairs use of the luggage. Further down the same page it says that all LEVEL8 bags and accessories except the LEVEL8 Atlas are protected by a one-year warranty, and that the Atlas backpack has the lifetime warranty.
Both sentences are on the page we read today and we are not going to pick one. The page itself tells you how to settle it: keep the product tag and refer to the warranty period printed on it. Do that before you assume lifetime coverage, and ask LEVEL8 in writing what period applies to part number LA-1688-02T00.
There is a second condition that an Amazon buyer should read twice. The page says the warranty applies only to the first purchaser or gift recipient who has registered the product online, that registration is automatic only for purchases made on LEVEL8's own site, and that purchases through other channels should refer to the terms and conditions of that channel. Register the bag yourself and keep the receipt.
Exclusions, and who this case suits
The exclusions are broad and include the thing most likely to damage a suitcase. LEVEL8 says the warranty covers only manufacturing defects and does not cover damage caused by misuse, neglect, accidents, abrasion, exposure to extreme temperatures, solvents, acids or water, normal wear and tear, or transport damage, and it names damage by airlines as an example of transport damage.
So a scuffed shell, a cracked corner from a baggage belt, or a wheel worn down over years are all outside the cover as the page words it. What is inside is a defect in material or workmanship, judged by LEVEL8 after you email them for a repair or replacement evaluation. Repair is at LEVEL8's expense if covered, and a comparable replacement follows if repair is not possible.
Taken together, this suits someone who wants a hard 20-inch case whose published size already includes the wheels, who values the built-in TSA lock and the split-case layout, and who is willing to register the purchase and check the tag rather than rely on the word lifetime. It suits you less if you need expansion, a charging port, or a warranty that covers airline damage.
