recteq RT-B380 Bullseye Wood Pellet Grill
Direct-flame searing and weeknight grilling on one 380-square-inch grate
The Bullseye is a kettle-shaped direct-flame pellet grill with one grate, a 15-pound hopper and a RIOT mode that runs the auger flat out for searing. recteq's own FAQ says the grill has no grease management, and its spec table says the controller is not Wi-Fi enabled.

Fit and limits
Strengths
- Direct-flame RIOT mode for searing that most barrel pellet grills cannot do
- Short parts list and a 30-minute assembly estimate from the maker
- Manual gives clear cleaning intervals for the fire pot, ash and grate
Caveats
- recteq states the grill has no grease management; a drip pan is a separate purchase
- Selectable set points stop at 500°F; 749°F is the marketing figure for RIOT mode
- recteq's feature list mentions its app while its spec table and FAQ say no Wi-Fi
A kettle-shaped direct-flame pellet grill, not a barrel smoker
recteq describes the RT-B380 Bullseye as a direct-flame, kettle-style grill that sits between charcoal grilling and pellet smoking. Physically that means a 22-inch stainless dome lid with wraparound venting the maker calls rainproof, a round cooking chamber, a heat deflector over the fire pot and a single grate. The listing model and part number, RT-B380, match recteq's own page and the manual's title page.
The spec table gives 380 square inches of total cooking space, one grill grate, and no second shelf. There is no upper rack to fall back on, so the capacity claims, 50 wings or 20 burgers or four racks of ribs or two butts, all assume one level. The hopper holds 15 pounds and recteq claims 15 hours of continuous cooking from it with its own pellets.
The manual's parts list is short and recteq estimates 30 minutes of assembly: grill body, lid and hinge, flame deflector, cooking grate, bottom shelf, wheels, footed and wheeled legs, handles and a temperature probe. Two people are asked for when unpacking and standing it up. A cover is not included; recteq sells one for this model separately.
The temperature range is stated three different ways
recteq's product page says the range is 200°F to 749°F and its specification table says minimum 200 and maximum 750. The manual says something narrower and more specific: the up and down arrows select a computer-maintained temperature in 25-degree increments over a range of 225°F to 500°F. Below 225°F the display reads LO and the grill feeds pellets at the minimum rate for the most smoke; above 500°F the display reads RIOT and the auger runs at 100 per cent of capacity.
The manual does not attach a number to RIOT. It says RIOT produces the highest temperature possible given environmental conditions and the type of pellets used. So 749°F is recteq's marketing figure for what RIOT can reach, not a set point you dial in, and LO is not a numbered setting either. Plan cooks around the 225°F to 500°F band you can actually select.
recteq states on the product page that PID control keeps the temperature within 25°F of the set point, which is the maker's own claim and the only accuracy figure either document gives. The manual adds that wind cools the grill, that the lid should stay closed during preheating, and that a failure to light within 30 minutes of startup shows ER-2 and shuts the grill down.
recteq says this grill has no grease management
This is the answer that should decide the purchase for some buyers. Asked on its own product page how you remove grease from the RT-B380 Bullseye, recteq answers that there is no grease management because of the high heat capability, and suggests either putting a drip tray under the grate if you are concerned or turning the heat up after cooking to burn off the excess. recteq sells drip pan liners for a Bullseye pan as a separate add-on.
The manual matches that picture. Its maintenance section covers the fire pot, the vents and smokestack, ash disposal, the cooking grate and the exterior, and it mentions a drip pan only in the troubleshooting and manual-lighting steps. There is no grease bucket, trough or drain tube in the parts list, and nothing in the pages we read describes emptying grease.
If you are used to a barrel pellet grill where grease runs to an external bucket, budget for a drip pan and expect fat from a long, fatty cook to go into the chamber and be burned off. recteq's care advice is to keep the cooking area clean and to clean the grate with a grill brush after every cook.
Eighteen inches all round, including above, on a GFCI outlet
The manual's clearance rule is 18 inches minimum from the unit to combustible construction or materials at the rear, the sides and the top. The top is the part people miss on a kettle-shaped grill with a lifting dome. It must be used on level ground, never under a combustible ceiling or overhang, and never on a combustible floor unless the floor is protected by a non-combustible surface approved for that use by the authority having jurisdiction.
recteq's specification table gives the power source as a 110 volt AC GFCI outlet, so this is a mains appliance that needs protected outdoor power. The manual adds that the grill must never be plugged in without the service access grate under the controller installed, that you should never unplug the grill to turn it off, and that it should be unplugged when not in use.
recteq gives the weight as 70 pounds before pellets, which matches the Amazon table, and the listing gives 22.5 by 40 by 36 inches. recteq's own dimensions article presents its measurements only as drawings, which we did not read, so treat the inch figures as listing data. The wheels should be locked in use, and the grill must be completely cool before it is moved, covered or put in a vehicle.
Fire pot every few cooks, ash on a 12-hour rule
The manual asks you to clean the fire pot every three to five cooks or after every 16 hours of cooking time, to keep airflow right, and to clean out the vents and smokestack periodically. Ash comes out of the interior, fire pot and hopper about every five to six bags of pellets, with a shop vacuum as the suggested tool, and the manual notes that leaving a thin layer of ash on the bottom of the barrel helps as insulation.
One instruction is unusually strict: always wait at least 12 hours after cooking before removing ash from the grill. Ashes then go into a metal container with a tight-fitting lid, placed on a non-combustible floor or the ground well away from anything that can burn, and kept closed until all cinders have cooled.
For fuel, the manual asks for premium 100 per cent hardwood cooking pellets with no additives, warns that some heating pellets contain softwood and pitch and should not be used for cooking, and says wet pellets swell and jam the auger. If the grill will sit unused for six weeks or more, recteq advises emptying the hopper. Note that the parts list contains no hopper clean-out door, so emptying means scooping or running the grill until the auger clears.
Two years, residential, and rust is excluded for any reason
The manual gives the Bullseye B380 a two-year limited warranty from the date of purchase by the original owner against defects in material and workmanship under normal residential use, and recteq's specification table also says two years. Coverage is limited to replacement of covered failed components; parts must be returned freight prepaid and are repaired or replaced if found defective on examination. recteq states it is not liable for transportation charges, labour costs or export duties.
Paint, the grill cover and damage caused by corrosion are excluded, and the warranty text states in capitals that it does not cover rust or oxidation for any reason. Commercial use is excluded. recteq also says there is no written or implied performance warranty, and that the warranty does not apply if the product has not been installed, operated, cleaned and maintained in strict accordance with its instructions, or where there has been misuse, improper handling or modification.
One more condition matters when you are picking an offer: recteq writes that no warranties are extended to people who buy the product from anyone other than recteq or an authorised recteq distributor. Check the seller before ordering, and have the model, serial number and date of purchase ready if you need to make a claim.
