TP-Link Deco BE25 BE5000 Dual-Band Wi-Fi 7 Mesh System, 3-Pack
Homes on a 2.5 Gbps plan that want wired headroom on every node and do not need a 6 GHz band
The Deco BE25, sold as Deco 7 BE5000, is a dual-band Wi-Fi 7 mesh: 4324 Mbps on 5 GHz and 688 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, with no 6 GHz band listed. Every unit has two 2.5 Gbps WAN/LAN auto-sensing ports. Units measure 150 x 150 x 62 mm, setup runs through the Deco app with a TP-Link ID, and the listing title and TP-Link's own pages disagree about channel width.

Strengths

- Dual-band only: TP-Link lists 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz rates for this model and no 6 GHz band
- Channel width is 240 MHz in the listing title and 320 MHz on TP-Link's spec tab, with no explanation
- No USB port listed, one Ethernet cable for three units, and WireGuard is missing from the VPN list
Which Deco this is, and what the 3-pack contains
The listing title reads Deco 7 Dual-Band BE5000 and ends Deco BE25 3-Pack, and its own tables give the model name, model number and manufacturer part number as Deco BE25(3-Pack), UPC 810142820318, colour White, three items, item weight 3.28 pounds. TP-Link documents the product on its Deco BE25 page, and the attached user guide is the Deco BE25 guide.
TP-Link's specifications tab gives the 3-pack contents as three Deco BE25 units, one RJ45 Ethernet cable, three power adapters and a Quick Installation Guide. The Amazon included-components field lists the same four lines. There is one cable for three units, so wiring the units together means supplying more cable.
The user guide's Appearance page describes the unit: an LED that changes colour by status, a WPS button, two 2.5 Gbps WAN/LAN ports, a power slot and a Reset button pressed for one second. The product label is on the bottom. TP-Link's specifications tab has no USB row, and its hardware line lists only the two 2.5 Gbps ports.
Dual-band only, with two 2.5 Gbps ports on every unit
BE5000 here is two numbers, not three: TP-Link lists 4324 Mbps on 5 GHz as 802.11be and 688 Mbps on 2.4 GHz as 802.11ax. The specifications tab lists no 6 GHz band for this model. It lists four streams and four high-performance internal antennas.
Each Deco BE25 carries two 2.5 Gbps ports with WAN/LAN auto-sensing, per both the specifications tab and the user guide, and the listing bullets describe wired and wireless backhaul, which needs at least two units. TP-Link's footnote adds that only one port can serve as WAN at a time and that 2.5 Gbps internet needs a compatible plan.
The capacity block on TP-Link's specifications tab for this model lists Dual-Band, OFDMA and 4 Streams, and does not list MU-MIMO, while the page's Wi-Fi 7 feature footnote names MU-MIMO among the features that require supporting clients and the user guide carries a general MU-MIMO disclaimer. Both appear in TP-Link's own documents; ask TP-Link which applies to the BE25 if MU-MIMO matters to you.
The channel-width figures do not line up
The Amazon title says 240 Mhz. TP-Link's specifications tab lists 320 MHz Channel among the Advanced Features for the BE25. The Wi-Fi 7 feature footnote on TP-Link's overview page names Multi-Link Operation, 4K-QAM, Multi-RUs, OFDMA, MU-MIMO and BSS Color as needing client support, and does not mention a channel width at all.
That is three statements, one from the listing and two from TP-Link, that do not agree with each other, and nothing on the listing or the TP-Link page reconciles them. If channel width is part of why you are buying, confirm the figure with TP-Link before ordering rather than taking either number from a title or a feature list.
Multi-Link Operation is listed for this model on TP-Link's specifications tab and in the listing title, and the footnote says it needs client support. A further footnote says this Deco may not support all the mandatory features as ratified in the IEEE 802.11be specification, and that further software upgrades may be required.
Two coverage numbers, one device claim with a stated basis
The Amazon bullet says the system covers up to 6,600 sq. ft. for over 150 devices. TP-Link's overview page carries the same 6,600 sq. ft. headline, and lower down on the same page gives up to 2,600 sq. ft. for a 1-pack. The page does not say how the single-unit figure relates to the headline.
TP-Link's footnote says throughput and coverage are not guaranteed, so treat both square-footage numbers as maker claims rather than as a promise for your home. If coverage decides the purchase, confirm the 3-pack figure with TP-Link.
The 150-device figure does have a stated basis. TP-Link says it comes from laboratory test data on the 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz bands, in an in-room scenario the footnote describes. That is a maker lab scenario, not an independent measurement.
Security, VPN and the part of HomeShield you pay for
Wi-Fi encryption is listed as WPA-Personal, WPA2-Personal and WPA3-Personal. Network security covers an SPI firewall and access control, and the HomeShield block lists real-time IoT protection, a malicious site blocker, an intrusion prevention system, DDoS attack prevention and a home network scanner. There is a guest network on each of the two bands, plus an IoT network with device isolation in the software block.
VPN support is listed on both sides: OpenVPN, PPTP and L2TP/IPSec appear as both VPN server and VPN client. WireGuard is not listed for this model, so check the protocol you need against that list before planning a VPN at the router.
TP-Link's HomeShield footnote on this model says HomeShield includes both basic and advanced features and that advanced features require a paid subscription. The Amazon bullet names the free pieces: basic network security with security scan and IoT device identification, basic parental controls, quality of service, and basic weekly and monthly reports.
Size, environment, setup and the warranty wording
Each unit is low and wide at 5.91 x 5.91 x 2.44 in (150 x 150 x 62 mm). Operating temperature is 0 to 40 degrees Celsius, storage minus 40 to 60 Celsius, operating humidity 10 to 90 percent and storage humidity 5 to 90 percent. Certifications listed are CE, FCC and RoHS.
Setup runs through the Deco app. The user guide says to get the app for iOS or Android and log in or sign up with a TP-Link ID. The LED table in both the user guide and the Quick Installation Guide shows the state: pulsing blue means ready for setup, solid green means set up and connected, pulsing red means a satellite has lost the main unit, solid red means a problem.
The Amazon warranty field says 2 Year Manufacturer. The Quick Installation Guide supplied with this listing says TP-Link warrants the hardware against defects in materials and workmanship when used normally, for a period that depends on the local service, from the date of original retail purchase, and directs you to tp-link.com/en/support for the warranty period, policy and procedures. Check that page for your country rather than assuming the listing field.
