VIOFO's own product data for the A119 MINI 2 carries the SKU A119 MINI 2 and the barcode 6972147073084, which is the EAN on this Amazon listing. The listing's model and part number both read A119 Mini 2, so the code on the listing and the maker's page agree.

This listing is sold by a retailer, not by VIOFO's own storefront. The listing shows it ships from Amazon and is sold by BlackboxMyCar, which VIOFO's Where to Buy page lists as a VIOFO retailer for Canada. VIOFO's warranty policy says to contact the store where you placed your order first and to contact VIOFO if that store cannot help. A separate refurbished A119 Mini 2 listing exists, so this page is only for the new unit.

VIOFO's menu lists the A119 MINI 2 among its 2K front-only cameras with the VS1, the A119 V3 and the A229 Plus 1CH, and lists the A119M Pro among its 4K front-only cameras. Its FAQ says the A119 MINI 2 is a single-channel front camera and does not support a rear or additional camera.

2K 60fps, HDR and the 30fps default

VIOFO lists a Sony STARVIS 2 IMX675 sensor of 1/2.8 inch and 5MP, an F1.6 lens with a 140 degree field of view, and 2K at 2560 by 1440 in both 60fps and 30fps. The manual's resolution list also includes 2592 by 1944 at 30fps, which the listing calls its maximum resolution.

The manual says the front camera's 60fps is not available while HDR is on, and that frame rate drops to 30fps with HDR enabled. VIOFO's page says the same and suggests 2K 30fps with HDR for difficult light. So you choose between smoother motion and HDR, not both at once.

The manual also says the camera's default video resolution is 2560 by 1440 at 30fps, so the 60fps mode is a setting to switch on rather than the out-of-box state. VIOFO's page describes the HDR as multiple-exposure HDR and lists an F1.6 aperture with a seven-element glass lens.

5GHz Wi-Fi, app, voice control and GPS

VIOFO lists built-in 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi, and the manual recommends choosing 5GHz mode if your phone supports it. The VIOFO app on Android or iOS handles live view, playback and file downloads. VIOFO's page says to download a video before viewing its GPS map in the app.

The manual lists spoken commands to take a photo, start or stop a video, turn the audio or the screen on or off, lock the video and turn Wi-Fi on or off. Its voice-language note names English, Chinese, Russian, Japanese, Vietnamese and Thai, and says the voice language must match the dash cam's system language. The comparison table on VIOFO's product page names only English, Chinese, Russian and Japanese.

GPS is a built-in logger that records speed, location and time into the video. The manual says to play videos in the VIOFO Player on a computer to see position and speed, and the FAQ says no separate GPS mount is needed. The manual's parts guide labels the mount as the GPS module.

Parking mode needs a hardwire kit

VIOFO lists three parking options: auto event detection with a buffer that saves 15 seconds before and 30 seconds after an event, time-lapse recording, and low bitrate recording. Time-lapse frame rates are 1, 2, 3, 5 or 10fps without audio. The manual adds that parking mode needs the Type-C hardwire kit for continuous power.

The hardwire kit is sold separately. The manual recommends the HK4 ACC kit, and VIOFO's page lists HK4 and HK6 as compatible. The manual has an Enter Parking Mode Timer setting and a Parking Recording Timer that can stop recording after one hour in parking mode.

The camera has no battery, only a built-in supercapacitor. VIOFO gives an operating range of -20°C to 65°C, while the manual advises turning the camera off if the car's interior goes above 60°C and suggests time-lapse mode for hot summer parking. The listing gives a range of 5°F to 149°F.

Storage, box contents and optional parts

The microSD card is sold separately. The manual says it must be Class 10 or UHS-I, up to 512GB, formatted to FAT32 before first use, with the camera off when you insert or remove it. Formatting erases everything on the card, and the manual suggests formatting periodically.

VIOFO's packing list is the front camera with GPS mount, a 3.5 m car charger, a 0.5 m USB-A to USB-C data cable, a spare mount pad, a trim removal tool, an after-sales card, a warning sticker, two windshield static stickers and the user manual. The manual's parts guide lists a similar set, and says the data cable is only for computer transfers and firmware, not for charging.

The CPL-100 filter, the BTR200 Bluetooth remote and the HK4 hardwire kit are optional and sold separately. The manual explains how to fit the filter and pair the remote. Loop recording splits into 1, 2, 3, 5 or 10 minute files in the settings list, though another manual page says each file is up to three minutes.

Warranty and where the sources disagree

VIOFO's policy covers cameras for 18 months and accessories for 12 months from the date of purchase. Registering the product with VIOFO extends the camera warranty by 6 months, to 24 months. The listing's warranty field gives the same 18 months plus 6 months registered.

The sources differ in a few places. VIOFO's page gives 1.81 by 1.77 by 2.94 inches while the listing gives 1.81 by 1.63 by 2.93 inches. Voice-language lists differ between the product page's comparison table and the manual, and the manual's own loop-recording lengths differ between two pages.

Claims about night vision and video quality here come from VIOFO's pages and the listing's bullets; this guide includes no footage of its own. Read the manual's installation notes before mounting, which say to keep the camera away from airbag panels and to place the lens within the wiper's sweep.
