Front, cabin and rear views, sold here with the RC18 rear camera
The N4 Pro S is a front unit with a road camera, a cabin camera and a 3.19-inch IPS screen, plus a separate rear camera on a 20-foot cable. Vantrue's manual gives a highest three-channel setting of 4K front, 1080P cabin and 1440P rear at 30fps, with F1.8 apertures on all three lenses.
The manual says the N4 Pro S ships either with the RC09 waterproof rear camera and waterproof cable or with the RC18 standard rear camera and a non-waterproof cable. This listing's title ends in RC18. Vantrue's product page describes an IP67 waterproof rear camera for interior or exterior mounting, which matches the RC09 kit rather than this one.
Rear resolution and viewing angles are worded differently
The listing title and Vantrue's product page headline call the rear camera 2.5K. The manual's specification table and the product page's own body text give 4K plus 1080P plus 1440P. We report both wordings; the manual's figure for the rear is 1440P at 30fps in three-channel mode and in front-plus-rear mode.
Angles also vary. The manual and the listing give 155 degrees front, 160 cabin and 165 rear, while the product page says 155 front and 160 for both cabin and rear. The manual lists two-channel options down to 1080P plus 1080P and front-only modes from 4K to 720P if you want smaller files.
No memory card in the box
The manual's specification table lists external 32GB to 1TB micro SD cards, U3 and Class 10, not included in the package, and a listing bullet says the same. Its box list has the front camera, a car charger with a built-in 11.5-foot Type-C cable, a 3.3-foot data-only cable, a GPS adhesive mount, electrostatic stickers, cable clips, a pry tool and an adhesion promoter.
Vantrue asks you to switch power off before inserting or removing the card and to format it at least once a month. Loop recording defaults to one-minute segments; the manual warns that if loop recording is turned off, the camera records 20-minute files until the card is full and then stops. A privacy mode with 30-second to five-minute segments is also listed.
Parking modes need steady power, not necessarily an ACC kit
The listing and product page say a hardwire kit, sold separately, is required for parking. The manual says to use Vantrue's hardwire kit or another stable and continuous power supply, recommends Vantrue's ACC kit because other brands' ACC detection pins may sit differently, and notes that without ACC the default Auto mode enters G-sensor parking after five minutes of inactivity.
Parking options include collision detection with adjustable sensitivity and quick-start or power-saving wake-up, motion detection, low bitrate and low frame rate. You can choose which lenses watch while parked, cap monitoring from no limit up to 96 hours, and add a one-to-five-minute ACC delay. Time-lapse and parking mode cannot run together.
Working range tops out at 140°F
The camera runs on a built-in supercapacitor from a 5V 3A supply at 7 watts. The manual lists a working range of -4°F to 140°F and storage from -13°F to 158°F. It recommends collision-detection parking in hot, sunny weather and turning the camera off when the cabin reaches 60°C.
The listing adds that front-plus-rear mode runs cooler than three-channel recording; that claim does not appear in the manual pages we read. Wi-Fi is dual-band 2.4GHz and 5GHz for the Vantrue app, and the manual warns that wireless CarPlay or Android Auto may affect the app connection. Voice commands cover English, Japanese, Russian, Chinese and French.
Warranty: 12 months, 18 with registration
The manual gives a full 12-month warranty for the N4 Pro S, extendable to 18 months by registering at vantrue.com, and the listing's warranty field says the same. Vantrue's warranty page adds that the period starts on the original order date and that a replacement keeps the remaining term rather than restarting it.
The warranty page excludes purchases from unauthorized resellers, improperly operated devices, lost or stolen units, non-quality issues after 30 days and free products. If you buy from an authorized third-party dealer, Vantrue offers technical support but exchanges and refunds go through that dealer, so check the seller before ordering.
