What the PW3000E is
The PW3000E is WEN's corded electric pressure washer with a 14.8 amp brushless motor, five quick-connect nozzles (0, 15, 25 and 40 degree plus soap), a 25-foot reinforced high-pressure hose, an onboard detergent tank and a quick-connect spray gun. WEN's product page and the Amazon listing use the same wording.
The manual's specifications list a 120 volt, 60 Hz, 14.8 amp, 1,800 watt motor, a 34.77-foot power cord, a 6 litre (202.91 fluid ounce) detergent tank, 35.7 by 17.9 by 21.9 inches, and a weight of 47.4 pounds. The listing and product page describe the cord as 35 feet; the Amazon details give 53.9 pounds, which does not match the manual.
The manual's packing list includes the handle and body as separate items, the hose, spray gun, lance, the five colour-coded nozzles, a spray gun holder, hose holder, cord hooks, wheels, rubber feet, two open-end wrenches, a hex wrench and a nozzle cleaning tool.
3000 PSI is the maximum; rated figures are lower
WEN's headline is 3000 PSI and 2.0 GPM. The manual's specification table separates rated and maximum figures: rated pressure is 2450 PSI with a maximum of 3000 PSI, and rated flow is 1.1 GPM with a maximum of 2.0 GPM. Neither the product page nor the listing mentions the rated figures.
The manual says the machine needs a garden hose of at least 5/8 inch inner diameter and that inlet water pressure must not exceed 101 PSI; its troubleshooting table lists a too-small garden hose as a cause of low pressure.
The pump has an automatic shutoff that WEN calls TSS, which shuts the pump off when you release the trigger, according to the manual. The manual also describes a pressure relief valve and a thermal protector, covered in the sections below.
Power: GFCI plug, circuit and extension cords
The power cord has a ground-fault circuit interrupter built into the plug. The manual recommends testing it each time you start up and says not to use the washer if the test fails. It must go into a properly grounded outlet, and the manual says not to modify the plug.
WEN says an extension cord is not recommended. If one must be used, the manual's table gives a minimum gauge for 25 and 50 foot cords and marks longer runs as not recommended, and it asks for an outdoor-rated certified cord. It also asks for a separate circuit and gives the wire and fuse requirements; read that page before plugging in.
A motor thermal protector shuts the motor down if it overheats and resets automatically after a few minutes of cooling, according to the manual. The troubleshooting table lists a tripped GFCI or thermal protector as the first things to check if the machine will not start.
Water supply and detergent
The manual says the washer must only be used with clean water, and that unfiltered water containing corrosive chemicals will damage it. It cautions against connecting to a drinking-water system without a backflow prevention method where your local rules require one.
Before operation the manual has you bleed air from the system, and its operation page sets out how. A pulsating stream is listed in troubleshooting as trapped air, an insufficient supply, or a blocked nozzle or filter.
Detergent goes in the onboard tank and is applied with the black soap nozzle. The manual says to use detergent designed for pressure washers, follow the detergent maker's safety data sheet, and empty and flush the tank after use. It also notes that some water spraying from the pressure relief valve is normal, but constant leaking means the valve needs replacing.
Maintenance and storage
The manual says the pump has a closed lubrication system and needs no oil. Routine care is cleaning the nozzles, preferably after every use, cleaning the water inlet filter regularly, and inspecting the high-pressure hose and replacing it if damaged rather than repairing it.
For storage, WEN asks you to drain the detergent tank and water from all components, store the unit upright on level ground, and keep it indoors where the temperature stays above freezing, away from furnaces or other heat that may dry the pump seals.
For long storage the manual recommends a pump antifreeze, protector or conditioner; this page does not reproduce the steps. It also says the washer should be recycled rather than put out with household waste when it reaches the end of its life.
Warranty and who this suits
WEN's product page and listing both mention a two-year warranty. The manual's warranty statement, from Great Lakes Technologies, gives two years for WEN consumer power tools to the original purchaser, with replacement of defective parts as the remedy. The sentence about professional or commercial use is garbled in the copy we read; ask WEN if that applies to you.
The statement gives 30 days from purchase to report missing or damaged parts, requires proof of purchase, says purchases from second-hand sellers void the warranty, excludes parts that wear out with regular use, and says the purchaser prepays shipping when sending a product in.
The PW3000E suits a homeowner with a grounded outdoor outlet and a 5/8 inch garden hose who wants an onboard soap tank. It suits you less if you need to work far from an outlet, since WEN advises against extension cords, or if you were counting on 3000 PSI as the rated pressure rather than the maximum.
