Two cameras in one doorbell, plus a Wi-Fi chime

The listing's model number is WVDB-DUO-BL, which Wyze's store data lists as the black Wyze Duo Cam Doorbell; a silver version is WVDB-DUO-SV. The quick start guide's declaration of conformity gives the FCC model numbers as GW_DBD for the doorbell and GW_WFCHM for the Wyze Wi-Fi Chime.

Wyze's tech specs describe a front camera at 2K, 2048 by 1536, with a 132 by 100 degree view, and a bottom camera at 1920 by 1080 with a 121 by 60 degree view, aimed at the doorstep for packages. Frame rate is 20 per second by day and 15 at night, with 8x digital zoom and six 850nm infrared lights.

A Wyze Wi-Fi Chime is in the box. Wyze's FAQ says its sound and volume are set in the Wyze app, and the listing says the chime works with all Wyze cams and doorbells. It plugs into a standard US outlet, per the listing's details.

Battery life: two different claims

Power comes from a removable Wyze battery pack that Wyze lists at 6200 mAh, 22.94 Wh, lithium-ion, charged by USB-C at 5V. Wyze says the same pack fits the Wyze Battery Cam Pro and Wyze Battery Charging Dock. A USB-C charging cable is included.

The listing's bullet says the battery lasts up to 6 months on one charge. Wyze's FAQ says 3 to 6 months with normal use. We report both; plan around the lower figure unless Wyze tells you otherwise.

Optional wiring, and 24/7 recording

Wyze lists power as battery or AC at 10 to 24V AC, 60 Hz. Its FAQ says compatible doorbell wiring lets the doorbell charge while mounted and adds 3 to 6 seconds of pre-roll video before an event. Wyze also says no technician is needed, even when using the hardwired option.

Continuous 24/7 local recording needs both a microSD card and hardwired power, per Wyze's FAQ and the listing's bullet; no subscription is required for it. Cam Plus adds 14 days of cloud video storage per the listing, and Wyze says Cam Plus, Cam Unlimited and Cam Unlimited Pro all work with this doorbell.

The box includes wire nuts and extension wires, and Wyze's box list adds a jump wire. Neither Wyze document read says whether an existing in-house chime rings when the doorbell is wired, so check with Wyze if that matters.

microSD, box and size: the sources disagree

The listing says microSD cards up to 512GB in FAT32 or exFAT. Wyze's tech specs say up to 256GB in exFAT. If you buy a card, the 256GB exFAT figure is the one both documents allow. The card is sold separately, and the guide says to fit it before setup.

Box counts vary by document. Wyze's product page lists two extension wires, three long and three short screws and a jump wire. The quick start guide lists one extension wire, three long and four short screws, and no jump wire. Both include the chime, back plate, corner kit, adhesive tape, detaching pin and battery pack.

Wyze gives the doorbell as 5.90 by 1.88 by 1.18 inches and 0.92 pounds. The listing's item dimensions are 1.38 by 1.97 by 5.63 inches, a different set; use Wyze's figures when measuring your door frame.

Mounting options and Wi-Fi

The quick start guide shows three installation methods: screws, adhesive tape, and screws with AC wiring. It says to mount the doorbell less than 6.6 feet above the ground, and that the adhesive tape works only with the back plate, not the corner kit. The corner kit adds 30 degrees to the horizontal viewing angle.

Wi-Fi is dual band. Wyze lists IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n at 2.4 and 5 GHz plus Bluetooth 5.0, and the listing agrees on 2.4 or 5 GHz. Phones need Android 9.0 or iOS 15.0 or later, and integrations named are Alexa, Google Assistant and IFTTT.

Weather, siren and warranty

Wyze gives an IP65 rating and an operating range of -4 to 122 degrees Fahrenheit. Wyze's specs also list a 90 dB siren and a motion warning voice prompt; the listing says the voice prompt plays when enabled.
