A dial-controlled oven with eight functions and a grill plate

The TOA-70NAS is a countertop oven with a 0.6 cubic foot interior and an interior light, according to Cuisinart's product page, which lists eight functions including air frying, toasting and grilling. The Amazon details table gives 1,800 watts, model number TOA-70 and part number TOA-70NAS, and the booklet covers the whole TOA-70 Series.

Control is by four dials plus a light button rather than a keypad. The booklet says setting the timer powers the oven on, and Cuisinart's page lists a 60-minute timer with automatic shutoff and a toast shade selector. To switch the oven off manually, the booklet says to turn both timer dials to OFF.

What comes in the box, and where each piece goes

Cuisinart's box list is an oven rack, a baking pan, an air fryer rack or basket and a dual-sided ceramic nonstick grill/griddle plate. The booklet adds that a pull-out crumb tray is already fitted in the oven and must stay in place, and that the rack has an upper and a lower position, with the upper position stopping halfway out.

Placement matters by function. The booklet says to air fry with the basket on the baking pan in the upper position, toast with the rack in the upper position, and grill with the plate on the baking pan in the lower position, preheated for about 10 minutes. It flags a fire risk if the rack is fitted the wrong way up for toasting, so check the booklet's rack diagrams before first use.

Capacity claims: where the listing and the maker differ

Cuisinart's page lists a 3-pound air fry capacity and a 12-inch pizza, and the booklet's air fry chart lists 3 pounds, about 20 wings, at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 to 25 minutes. The listing says the oven can toast six slices of bread and roast a 4-pound chicken, while the maker's page says six bagel halves and a whole 3-pound chicken.

Weight also differs. The Amazon details table gives 25.3 pounds, while the Cuisinart specifications list a weight of 23 with no unit stated. Both give the footprint as 12.25 by 15.75 by 13.75 inches. We could not reconcile the chicken size or the weight, so plan around the smaller chicken figure and confirm the weight with Cuisinart if it matters for your shelf or counter.

Space: 2 to 4 inches from the wall and nothing on top

Before first use, the booklet says to place the oven on a flat surface 2 to 4 inches away from the wall or any objects on the countertop, and not on heat-sensitive surfaces. It states that the exterior walls get very hot in use and that objects should not be stored on top of the oven.

The safeguards add that it should not be operated under wall cabinets or inside an appliance garage. The cord is short, an extension cord with a suitable rating is allowed, and cord storage sits at the rear. The booklet also notes that long cooking can build condensation that may leave moisture around the oven.

Cleaning: every accessory is hand-wash only

The booklet states plainly that the oven rack, baking pan, air fryer basket and crumb tray are not dishwasher safe and should be washed by hand. The listing's care field agrees with hand wash. Follow the booklet's cleaning page for which cleaners and pads to use on the accessories and interior.

After cooking greasy foods, the booklet asks you to clean the top interior of the oven once it has cooled. It also warns against covering the crumb tray, basket or grill plate with foil. The crumb tray is pre-installed and the booklet says it must stay in place during use.

Three-year warranty terms

Cuisinart's product page and the booklet both state a three-year limited warranty. The booklet says it runs for 3 years from the date of original purchase, for U.S. consumers under normal home use, and it excludes non-household use. Read the booklet's warranty page for the full wording before relying on it.

Registration at cuisinart.registria.com is recommended but does not replace keeping the original proof of purchase; without it, the date of manufacture is used. The warranty excludes damage from a voltage converter, unauthorized accessories, parts or repairs, accident, misuse, shipment or non-household use. The booklet gives separate in-warranty service options for California residents.
