Which EcoFlow this is: DELTA 3 Max Plus, EF-DL3-MP

The Amazon listing is sold by Amazon.com and gives the model EF-DL3-MP and UPC 842783191786. EcoFlow's product and specification pages do not print that code, but EcoFlow's user manual for the DELTA 3 Max Plus prints Model EF-DL3-MP in its Technical Specifications and names the matching Smart Extra Battery EF-DL3-MP-EB. The UPC is not in the product data EcoFlow's store page exposes, so the code on the manual is what ties the listing to the maker.

EcoFlow sells a second 2,048Wh model in the same series, the DELTA 3 Max. EcoFlow's store page gives it 2,400W rated output with 4,800W surge, a 68 minute charge to 80% and a weight of 20.3 kg, against 3,000W and 6,000W surge for the Max Plus, so check for EF-DL3-MP on the box before relying on any figure below. EcoFlow's manual is an online page rather than a PDF, and it says it may be updated without notice.

3,000W rated, 3,800W with X-Boost, and what the outlets take

For the US version, the manual lists four AC outlets at 120V and 60Hz with 20A maximum per port, 3,000W total and 6,000W surge. Its X-Boost table shows 3,800W for the US, X-Boost is on by default and can be changed in the app, and the manual says it suits heating devices but does not support devices with voltage protection, such as precise instruments. The listing calls the 3,800W figure continuous, which the manual does not say.

The manual lists one USB-C port at up to 140W, two USB-C ports at 45W maximum each with 45W in total, and one USB-A port at 18W. The manual lists 12.6V at 30A and 378W in total for the 12V outputs, shared between an Anderson port at 30A and a cigarette lighter port at 10A, and EcoFlow's specification page puts the cigarette lighter port at 126W. The unit is approximately 22.1 kg (48.7 lb) and 494 by 242 by 305 mm (19.4 by 9.5 by 12.0 in) with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and its IP rating is IP20.

Charging: 1,800W from a wall outlet, 43 minutes only with a generator

EcoFlow's specification page lists 1,800W of AC charging input, and its product page says 0 to 80% takes 64 minutes on wall power, with a footnote that the figure comes from EcoFlow labs. The manual gives the US AC input as 100-120V at 15A, and a charge speed switch that runs either at the maximum supported power or at a level set in the app. Our arithmetic: 80% of 2,048Wh is about 1,638Wh, which at a flat 1,800W is about 55 minutes before losses.

The listing and EcoFlow's page headline a 43 minute charge to 80%. EcoFlow's footnote says that figure was measured in optimal conditions with the EcoFlow Smart Generator 4000 (Dual Fuel), which is sold separately. Solar goes in through two XT60i ports, and the manual asks that the panels' total open-circuit voltage stay within 60V and total short-circuit current within 18A; EcoFlow's page lists 1,000W as the maximum PV input. Car charging needs a cable that is sold separately, and the box holds only the unit, an AC charging cable and the manuals and warranty card.

Extra batteries, generators and the app

The Extra Battery port connects an EcoFlow Smart Extra Battery directly, and the manual's charging table says a Smart Generator, an alternator charger or a microinverter connects through that port only with the EcoFlow Smart Generator Adapter, which is not in the box list. The manual's compatibility table lists the DELTA 3 Max Plus Smart Extra Battery as EF-DL3-MP-EB, and it says charging can reach about 2,300W with a compatible extra battery attached. EcoFlow's page advertises 2 to 10kWh of capacity, but its footnotes say the two-extra-battery setups need an Extra Battery Expansion Adapter that they describe as coming soon.

EcoFlow's store page notes that an adapter is required to connect the 800W Alternator Charger, and its product page footnote says the Alternator Charger Plus 1000 will be launched soon. Storm Guard, time-of-use and self-powered modes run through the EcoFlow app, and the page says its time-of-use and self-powered features need software V6.14.5 and firmware V7.80.99.52 or newer. Without internet the manual says the unit can be managed over Bluetooth, though some settings may be restricted.

Backup switchover, medical limits and where the sources disagree

EcoFlow's specification page lists a UPS switchover time of under 10 ms, and its store page says that is fast enough for NAS systems and servers. The listing goes further and says the unit protects PCs and medical equipment. The manual's Automatic Power Switching section says only that the unit takes over from the grid during an outage to help minimize interruption; it gives no time and makes no server claim. It also says the product is not intended for life-sustaining medical equipment and that its electromagnetic fields may affect implants such as pacemakers.

The manual also asks you to set the AC timeout to never for a refrigerator or other intermittent load, because an idle AC output turns itself off. On protection, EcoFlow's page lists Class B EMC and describes 95% humidity tolerance and 5% salt spray resistance, while the manual's FCC note describes a Class A device for commercial environments, lists IP20, and says to keep the unit dry and use a waterproof bag in wet places. We could not reconcile these, so follow the manual for siting.

Warranty, registration and storage

The listing's warranty field says 5 years. EcoFlow's specification page describes that as a 3-year standard warranty plus a 2-year extension available on registration in the EcoFlow app, and its after-sales policy table lists the DELTA 3 Max Plus at 3+2 years, subject to registration. The policy is written for customers who buy from EcoFlow, tells buyers who purchased through other channels with different after-sales policies to contact the place of purchase, excludes products bought from unauthorized sellers and asks for proof of purchase.

EcoFlow's Where to Buy page lists Amazon among its official online stores for the United States, so keep the Amazon order record as proof of purchase and register in the EcoFlow app for the extra 2 years. For storage the manual gives -10°C to 45°C, with 0°C to 30°C recommended, and asks you to charge and discharge the unit once every 3 months, bringing it to 60% for storage. It also says not to leave the unit uncharged or unused for more than 6 months, otherwise the warranty will be void, and not to carry it onto a plane.
