EGO's page says the kit includes the cordless snow shovel, a 2.5Ah battery and a 210W charger; the SNS1200 is the tool only. The manual covers the SNS1200 and lists the shovel, a front handle assembly, a 4 mm hex key, an M5 coupler lock screw and the manual in the box. The Amazon listing's model field reads SNS1201.

The shaft is hinged for storage. The manual says to unfold and lock the shafts completely before starting, not to hold them by the hinged coupler, and to make sure the cable inside the shaft is not pinched when closing the hinge.

What it is for

The manual says to use it on sidewalks, steps, decks, patios and smaller driveways when snow is under 6 inches deep. It gives a 12 in. clearing width, a 6 in. intake height and a throw of up to 25 feet. EGO's page claims up to a 3-car driveway with 6 inches of snow on the included 2.5Ah battery.

The manual warns not to use the shovel on ice, where you can slip and fall, on rooftops, or on frozen lakes and rivers. Its safety list says not to use it on gravel unless the shovel is adjusted for that surface.

Speed, direction and weight

A speed shifter switches between low and high, which the manual lists as 1,350 and 1,900 rpm with no load, and it says to set high speed before leaving the shovel unused for a long time. A louver knob sends the snow left, straight ahead or right, turning 30 degrees each way.

The manual lists 14 lbs without a battery, and EGO's page gives 16.7 lbs with the included 2.5Ah battery attached. The IPX4 splash rating applies to the shovel and battery used together as a system, per the manual.

Warranty and care

EGO's page lists a five-year limited tool warranty and a three-year limited battery warranty. The manual points to EGO's online warranty policy for the detailed periods, and it says to remove the battery pack during work breaks and after finishing work.
