EGO POWER+ SNT2114 21 in. Snow Blower with Steel Auger (2 x 7.5Ah Kit)

Kit or tool: what SNT2114 means

EGO lists the 21 in. steel-auger blower as SNT2110 (snow blower only), SNT2112 (two 5.0Ah batteries and a charger) and SNT2114 (two 7.5Ah batteries and a dual-port charger). The manual covers the SNT2110. The Amazon listing's model field reads SNT2114.

The manual's contents list names the blower, the discharge chute, the manual and a hex wrench. The side rails ship folded and locked; quick-release levers open them, and the manual says never to start the blower with the side rails folded down.

Size, throw and driveway claims

The manual gives a 21 in. clearing width, a 13 in. intake height, 7 in. wheels and a throw of up to 40 feet, and lists 53 lbs without batteries. The chute turns 90 degrees left and right from a handle-mounted control.

EGO's page claims up to a 12-car driveway with 8 inches of snow per charge with two 5.0Ah batteries. The Amazon listing for this 7.5Ah kit claims up to a 16-car driveway. Both are maker claims, not measurements of ours.

Batteries and snow depth

The blower holds two batteries. The manual says not to run it on a single battery when snow is deeper than 3 inches or very wet or icy, because the battery can overheat and shut off, and it recommends two batteries working together for peak power.

If the blower overloads, the manual says to slow your pace or take a narrower swath. Variable auger speed sets the throwing distance, and an electric brake stops the auger within 3 seconds of releasing the bail switch.

Surfaces and clogs

The manual's safety list says flatly not to use this blower on a graveled surface. It also warns never to use it on a rooftop or on frozen lakes, rivers or similar surfaces, and to keep all snow discharge pointed away from electrical devices.

To clear a clog, remove the batteries, wait 10 seconds for the auger to stop and use a clean-out tool such as a wood rod, never your hand. EGO's page says the steel auger cuts through ice and snow 50% faster than its SNT2102.

Warranty

EGO's page lists a five-year limited tool warranty and a three-year limited battery warranty for this blower. The manual's limited warranty section points to EGO's online warranty policy for the detailed period of each product, so check that page for exclusions before you buy.
