The maker's page for the identical product name gives SKU HME021001N, a 1.6-gallon tank, a body 11 inches deep by 15.4 wide by 24.3 high and a one-year warranty. The hero image on that maker page is named after this ASIN, which is about as direct a link between listing and maker page as you get.
Amazon's Additional details give Part Number HME020030N, and the manual supplied on the listing pairs HME021001N with HME020030N on its cover and again on its warranty page. That is a clean match. The same Amazon panel also fills the Model Name and Model Number fields with HME1004, which belongs to a different hOmeLabs manual family, and gives UPC 853893007096 where the maker gives GTIN 810049721527. Check the nameplate on the back of the unit before ordering parts.
The supplied manual's cover says Energy Star Rated and covers 23, 35, 50 and 50-pint-with-pump models. Amazon's Item Type Name field also reads "Star Dehumidifier". The maker's product page for this model does not repeat an Energy Star claim in its description, so the cover of the supplied manual is the document to point to.
A conflict worth knowing about before you rely on the pump
The listing sells this as a dehumidifier with an integrated pump, and the maker's product title says "with Pump". The manual supplied on the same listing labels the pump drain hose outlet, the Pump button and the pump troubleshooting entries "Only applicable to HME021004N" — a different model in the same family. The accessories list at the front of that manual does include a pump drain hose without any such restriction.
We cannot reconcile that from the documents, and we are not going to pick a side quietly. If the pump is the reason you are buying, confirm with hOmeLabs that your unit ships with the pump hardware, and keep the packaging until you have run a pump cycle.
Where the manual does describe pump draining, the numbers are specific: a pump drain hose with a quarter-inch outer diameter and 16.4 feet of length, an insert depth of at least 0.59 inch, and a maximum pumping elevation of 16.4 feet (5 m). The pump starts when the bucket fills, it is normal for it to be loud for the first three to five minutes, and the bucket is expected to keep some water in it because the pump inlet has to stay submerged.
Clearance, the 24-hour wait, and moving 30 pounds of appliance
The manual opens by telling you to leave the unit standing upright and out of its box for 24 hours before plugging it in, and repeats that in the placement notes. It wants a level floor and sets the working environment at 41°F (5°C) to 90°F (32°C). Amazon's spec table separately lists an Upper Temperature Rating of 35°C, which is 95°F and above the manual's ceiling.
The placement diagram gives two clearance figures, more than 7.9 inches (20 cm) and more than 15.7 inches (40 cm). Reading the manual as text does not tell us which figure belongs to which face, so plan on the larger one all round rather than guessing. Four casters are fitted, and the manual says not to force them over carpet and not to move the unit with water in the bucket.
Amazon lists the weight at 30.5 pounds and the airflow at 135 CFM. The listing's own first bullet says airflow reaches 218 CFM in Turbo and 188 CFM in Standard, so the table and the bullet disagree. The maker's page gives no weight or airflow at all.
Gravity draining still exists, and it has its own rules
Besides the pump, the unit has a plain continuous-drain outlet that works by gravity. The manual says to connect a water hose with a female threaded end, and adds that on some models the female threaded end is not included. The drainage point must sit lower than the outlet, the hose must slope downward the whole way, and the troubleshooting table warns that hoses longer than about five feet may not drain properly.
Only one drain can be in use at a time. Before starting the pump, the manual says to remove the gravity drain hose and refit the plastic cover on that outlet tightly; when you go back to gravity draining, the pump hose comes off. Water on the floor is listed as a known result of leaving the back drain plug out while expecting the bucket to collect water.
Neither drain should be routed outdoors when the outdoor temperature is at or below 32°F. The manual says the water will freeze, block the hose and may damage the unit, and it repeats that warning for the pump.
Day-to-day settings and the cleaning the manual asks for
The unit powers up in Continuous mode, which locks the humidity arrows until Continuous is switched off — the manual flags this twice because it surprises people. Humidity is then set from 35% to 85% in 5% steps, the display reads room humidity with a stated accuracy of plus or minus 5%, and a Comfort button picks the target for you: 55% below 65°F, 50% from 65 to 77°F, 45% above 77°F. A one-shot timer runs from 0 to 24 hours.
Auto Defrost cycles the compressor off and keeps the fan running until frost clears. Auto Restart brings back the previous settings after a power cut, and the compressor will not restart for three minutes after stopping. AS and ES are humidity and temperature sensor errors, P2 means the bucket is full or misplaced, and Eb means the bucket has been removed on pump-equipped units.
The care page tells you to clean the unit with water and mild detergent and never bleach or abrasives, to vacuum or brush the intake and outlet grilles, and to clean the bucket with water and mild detergent every two weeks. The same page tells you to clean the air filter, but the interval on that line did not survive text extraction from this particular PDF, so read the printed page that came in your box rather than trusting a number we could not confirm. The manual does say not to run the unit without a filter.
Refrigerant and the limits of the one-year warranty
The refrigerant is R32, and the manual's R32 safety section names HME021001N among the models it applies to. It carries the standard flammable-refrigerant warnings: do not pierce or burn, do not use unapproved means to speed up defrosting, keep ventilation openings clear, and leave servicing to someone licensed to handle flammable refrigerants. The manual also says not to drink the drained water and that the appliance is for household use only.
hOmeLabs offers a limited one-year warranty on products bought new and unused from hOmeLabs Technologies or an authorized reseller, with the original proof of purchase, for defects arising from faulty manufacture, parts or workmanship. It covers repair or replacement, including the necessary labor, and hOmeLabs may substitute a replacement rather than repair.
What it excludes is the part to read: normal wear and tear, abuse, mishandling or accident, failure to follow the operating instructions, exposure to liquid or foreign particles, servicing or modification by anyone other than hOmeLabs, and commercial or non-household use. Repairs by unauthorized third parties or non-hOmeLabs spare parts void it. Keep the receipt, and check the seller and the condition of the offer you select.
