It needs assembly, and the casters are for carpet

The Amazon listing's assembly field says Already assembled and its components field says none are included. The booklet contradicts both: it lists the parts and hardware, including an Allen key, and walks through ten assembly steps. Office Depot's page also says assembly is required and warns that the chair is heavy or oversized and may need more than one person to handle.

The listing's surface recommendation says Hard Floor. The booklet says the included casters are intended for carpet and not recommended on tile or hardwood, may damage those floors, and suggests a chair mat. Go by the booklet if your floor is hard.

Controls in the arms, and how the back behaves

The height and tilt levers sit under the arms rather than under the seat. The booklet puts the seat-height lever under the right arm and the tilt-lockout lever under the left: pull it up and lean back to tilt, or sit upright and push it down to lock. A round black knob under the front of the seat sets tilt tension, and turning it clockwise makes rocking easier.

The booklet describes PostureSync as letting the lumbar area flex from full support when upright to a more relaxed support when reclined, and says locking the tilt keeps the back upright for constant lumbar support while you work. There is no separate lumbar knob or pad adjustment described in the booklet, and no arm-height adjustment.

Assembly and upkeep

The ten steps bolt each arm to both the back and the seat, snap the arm cables into EZ cable connectors on the seat plate, fix the back plate to the seat plate with a knob, and fit the shroud and gas lift. The booklet says to keep the arm levers down during that step and not to use power tools.

Afterwards it asks you to check and re-tighten screws and knobs every 90 days. The chair is for indoor use only, away from direct sun, heat and damp, and you should not stand on the seat. Clean the upholstery with a damp cloth only, and use a professional upholstery cleaner for persistent stains.

Warranty: ten years, three on coverings

The booklet's warranty gives ten years against defects in materials and workmanship for the original purchase in normal commercial, personal or household use. Fabrics, foam, veneer finishes and other covering materials are covered for three years. Office Depot's page also lists a ten-year limited warranty.

A receipt is required and claims without one may be rejected. Remedies are repair, replacement, or a refund as an Office Depot merchandise card.
