The listing gives model number and manufacturer part number RTA-80X5-BK, made by RTA Products, LLC, in Black. Techni Mobili's own product page sells the chair as Item # RTA-80X5, and its page source lists colour SKUs RTA-80X5-BK and RTA-80X5-SG, matching the Black and Silver Grey colours it names.
Techni Mobili describes a breathable mesh high back, a contoured seat cushion, a height-adjustable headrest and seat, padded flip-up armrests, a locking lever and tension control knob for the back, dual-wheel non-marking casters and a heavy-duty nylon base.
The two descriptions of the seat differ slightly: Techni Mobili's page calls it a contoured mesh fabric seat cushion, and the listing calls it a contoured fabric seat cushion with polyester as the material.
Weight limit and sizes
Techni Mobili's product page says the chair fits people up to 220 lb, and the assembly instructions show a 220 lb (100 kg) limit with the note that only one person should use it at a time. The listing's description and its maximum weight field also say 220 pounds.
The listing gives the chair as 26.5 inches wide and 26.5 inches deep, with an overall height of 45.5 to 49.5 inches, and an item weight of 34 pounds. Neither Techni Mobili document we read gives overall dimensions.
The listing's table also shows a seat height of 45.5 inches, the same figure as its minimum overall height, a seat depth of 25.5 inches and a back height of 30.5 inches. Neither Techni Mobili document gives seat height, seat depth or back height.
The controls, as the instructions label them
The assembly instructions' Chair's Functions panel covers four controls: a handle pulled up for seat height, a handle pulled out to unlock the tilt and pushed in to lock it, a tension knob turned toward plus for more resistance and minus for easier tilting, and flip-up armrests.
The headrest adjusts by pulling a knob out to raise or lower it, according to the same panel. The listing's table shows two reclining positions; the instructions describe a lock and a tension knob but do not give a count of positions.
Techni Mobili's page and the listing both describe the back's locking lever and tension control knob. The instructions' functions panel lists no seat depth adjustment and no arm height adjustment beyond the flip-up function.
What comes in the box and assembly
The instructions' main parts list names the backrest, seat, nylon base, mechanism, lift cylinder, five casters, left and right armrests and the headrest. The hardware list gives four each of M6x20, M6x25 and M6x30 screws, four M6x35 screws with washers, four hole covers, and an Allen wrench, which the instructions list as included.
The instructions run to seven steps and include warnings at certain steps to leave the screws loose. They also link an assembly video. We do not reproduce the steps here; follow the printed sheet.
The listing's included components field names the chair back, seat, legs and headrest, and says it ships in one box, which matches Techni Mobili's page. Techni Mobili's page describes the chair as ready and easy to assemble.
Care and upkeep
The instructions ask you to clean the chair with a soft cloth lightly dampened with mild soap and water, and not to use solvents or abrasive materials. They also say not to expose it to direct sunlight or extreme environmental conditions.
An inspection routine is part of the care panel: inspect the chair thoroughly every 4 months and re-tighten the screws, and do not use it if frame parts are damaged or screws are loose or missing. The sheet includes a box for recording inspection dates.
The instructions' warnings panel also covers not standing on the chair, not sitting on the edge of the seat, and supervising children. Read that panel before use; we do not reproduce the full warnings here.
Warranty terms
Techni Mobili's product page, the listing and the listing's warranty field all give a 2-year limited warranty. RTA Products' warranty document assigns a 2-year term to executive and manager chairs and 1 year to task chairs; it does not name RTA-80X5 in either category. Techni Mobili's product page calls the chair an executive office chair; confirm the term with RTA Products before relying on it.
The chair warranty covers repair or replacement of defective components under normal use, for merchandise bought in the continental United States, and includes no assembly labour. It excludes normal wear and tear, surface changes from light exposure, extreme conditions, and intentional damage or negligence.
The assembly instructions give warranty@rtaproducts.com for claims. The warranty document's claim procedure, printed in its desk warranty section, asks for the model number and the date and place of purchase.
