The listing carries the Canadian model code

Amazon's details table gives both model and part number as TFB89BLFC. Traeger's Ironwood 885 support guide lists four model numbers for this grill: TFB89BLF for the USA and TFB89BLFC for Canada, both active, plus TFB89BLE and TFB89SLC for the USA, both marked discontinued. Traeger's US product page shows TFB89BLF.

So the code on this US listing is the one Traeger assigns to Canada. We are not guessing at how the two units differ, because neither the support guide nor the product page lists a difference beyond country. If the exact version matters to you, ask the seller which model number is printed on the grill before you order.

Amazon lists the box as the Ironwood 885 grill, one wired meat probe and assembly instructions with tools. Traeger's support guide also gives a meat probe count of one, and the product page says one Traeger meat probe is included. A cover is a separate accessory: the support guide lists an Ironwood 885 cover as BAC513.

885 square inches, split across two grates

Traeger's support guide publishes the grate split for this grill. It gives a 30 by 19 inch main grate with 570 square inches and a 30 by 10.5 inch second grate with 315 square inches, for 885 square inches in total. The barrel is listed at 30 inches, and the support guide also lists hooks for storing the upper grate.

The owner's manual supplied with the listing says the lower grate has sear and smoke positions, and that the upper grate has centre and back positions with storage hooks on the rear for when it is not in use. Traeger's product page describes the same adjustable dual-position smoke and sear bottom grate.

The product page and support guide agree on a 20-pound hopper and a 500 degrees Fahrenheit maximum, and the page gives a range of 165 to 500 degrees. It lists 120-volt AC power at 95 watts, a 6-foot D2 NEMA power cord, a Downdraft Exhaust system, dual-wall insulation and an integrated pellet sensor; the support guide also marks the pellet sensor as included.

Three different weights, one set of dimensions

Traeger's support guide gives assembled dimensions of 53 by 27 by 47 inches, and Amazon's table matches that footprint. Weight is where the sources part company: the support guide says 163 pounds assembled, Traeger's product page says 175 pounds total weight, and Amazon's table says 170.2 pounds. The support guide separately lists a package weight of 197.1 pounds.

We cannot tell you which assembled figure is right. The support guide lists the box at 49 by 23 by 28 inches. Traeger's FAQ on the product page suggests assembly takes 30 to 60 minutes.

For moving it around the yard, the manual's parts diagram shows locking-caster legs and all-terrain wheel legs, and the product page lists all-terrain wheels. The support guide's parts list matches, with caster legs on the left and wheel legs on the right.

Clearances from the owner's manual supplied with the listing

The manual attached to this listing is dated 2018 and its cover lists TFB89BLE/BLEC and TFB65BLE/BLEC, not TFB89BLFC. It is the same document name that Traeger's support guide links as the Ironwood 885 English owner's manual, but read it knowing it was written for the earlier codes and may not reflect later changes.

That manual requires a minimum of 18 inches from the grill to combustibles and a minimum of 40 inches when operating under overhead combustibles. It says the grill is for outdoor use only and warns never to use heating fuel pellets because of possible contaminants and additives. It recommends storing pellets in a dry place away from heat-producing appliances and other fuel containers.

Traeger's product page adds that the grill runs on 120-volt AC and plugs in with the included 6-foot cord. The manual says a damaged supply cord must be replaced by a special cord assembly from the manufacturer or its service agent; the support guide lists the D2 NEMA power cord as KIT0257.

The grease bucket and a firepot clean every 20 hours

The manual describes an external grease bucket, fed through a V-shaped drain and a drain tube. It says the grease management system should be inspected before each use, and that the drain and drain tube should be scraped with a stiff, non-metallic tool.

The manual says the Downdraft Exhaust should be inspected at least twice a year, and that ash in and around the firepot should be cleaned every 20 hours of use, with the grill cold. It cautions against loading excessive high-fat food, giving more than a pound of bacon as an example.

The manual describes a hopper clean-out door for changing pellet flavours, used with the power off and the grill cooled. Traeger sells drip tray liners and grease bucket liners as accessories, listed in the support guide as BAC855 and BAC407, and a StayDry pellet bin as BAC637.

Three-year warranty and support resources

Traeger's product page FAQ describes a three-year warranty covering defects in material and workmanship from the date of original purchase, and Amazon's warranty field also says three years. The manual pages we read did not include the warranty terms, so check Traeger's current warranty document for exclusions and seller conditions before you rely on it.

The same FAQ says a WiFIRE grill can be used without an internet connection, while the manual says connecting requires a home Wi-Fi network and a phone or tablet on the latest iOS or Android, and that a data plan is needed when you leave home Wi-Fi range. If your yard has weak Wi-Fi, the manual suggests facing the grill toward the router or using an extender.

Traeger's support guide is useful after purchase: it lists part numbers for the controller, the hot rod and firepot kit, the lid gasket, the power cord and the caster and wheel legs. It advises proper diagnosis, or contacting Traeger Support, before ordering parts.
