The model on the listing is Traeger's Canadian code

Amazon's details table gives model and part number TFB01WLEC. Traeger's Timberline 1300 support guide lists two model numbers: TFB01WLE for the US and TFB01WLEC for Canada. The owner's manual Traeger links from that page names both on its cover, along with TFB85WLE/WLEC, which the manual covers in the same document.

That matters for the warranty. The manual's warranty section is headed '3-Year Limited Warranty (U.S.A. only)'. Neither the support guide nor the manual pages we read explains how a Canadian-coded grill sold on a US store is covered, and the Amazon listing shows no warranty field. Ask the seller which model number is printed on the grill and confirm warranty coverage with Traeger before buying.

The listing's bullets describe three tiers of stainless-steel grates, fully insulated construction, a bamboo cutting board and stainless-steel front shelf, WiFIRE, the D2 controller, a pellet sensor and Traeger Downdraft. The manual's parts list matches: top, middle and bottom grates, a front shelf, side shelf, meat probe and a cutting board placed on top of the hopper.

1,300 in the name, 1,343 in Traeger's grate table

Traeger's support guide publishes the grates: a 34 by 16.5 inch main grate with 561 square inches, a 34 by 14 inch second grate with 476 square inches and a 34 by 9 inch third grate with 306 square inches, for a stated total of 1,343 square inches. The listing title and the manual's feature page use 1,300, the manual giving a range of 850 to 1,300 square inches for the grills it covers.

The two numbers are close, and we are not guessing at why they differ. What the per-grate table does tell you is that the main grate alone is 561 square inches; the manual says the top grate can be removed for tall food like a turkey and that the bottom grate has a sear position.

The support guide gives a 24-pound hopper and a 500 degrees Fahrenheit maximum, one meat probe, a stainless side shelf with hooks, a Downdraft exhaust, a door-type pellet evacuation and an included pellet sensor. The manual says the pellet sensor reads the hopper level in 5 percent steps and can send low-pellet alerts through the Traeger app.

Weight: 255 assembled, 285 packaged

Amazon's table lists 285 pounds. Traeger's support guide gives 255 pounds assembled and 285 pounds for the package, so Amazon's figure equals the support guide's package weight rather than its assembled weight. Both figures describe a heavy grill.

The support guide lists assembled dimensions of 58 by 28 by 51 inches, which Amazon's table repeats, and a package of 55 by 31 by 22.5 inches. The barrel is 34 inches wide.

For moving it, the manual's parts diagram shows locking-caster legs and all-terrain wheel legs. The manual warns never to move the grill while it is operating and to let it cool thoroughly before moving or transporting it.

Clearance and power from the owner's manual

The manual requires a minimum of 18 inches between the grill and combustibles, and a minimum of 40 inches when operating under overhead combustibles. It says the grill is for outdoor use only, warns never to use heating fuel pellets because of possible contaminants and additives, and asks you to store pellets dry and away from heat-producing appliances and other fuel containers.

For North American buyers, the manual calls for a 3-prong outlet with GFCI protection, located within reach of the 6-foot power cord, and says to follow the National Electrical Code and local codes when installing the receptacle. Its European section says not to use an adapter or extension cord.

If the grill fails to ignite, the manual's FAQ says to verify power at the outlet and, if the cord is on a GFCI, to check and reset it. The support guide recommends contacting Traeger Support before buying any replacement part, and lists part numbers for accessories such as the cover and cutting board.

Grease trough, chute and a lined grease pan

This grill uses a grease trough, a grease chute and a grease pan with disposable liners, which the manual calls the Traeger Grease Management System. It says the system should be inspected before each use, and warns that a plugged chute could cause a grease fire. The grease pan ships with a preinstalled 5-pack of aluminium liners.

This manual says liners, changed frequently, help keep the grill clean and reduce flare-ups. The support guide lists a drip tray liner, BAC856, and a 5-pack of Timberline grease pan liners, BAC404, as compatible accessories. The manual also says the Downdraft exhaust should be inspected at least twice a year.

Other care points in the manual: clean ash from the firepot every 20 hours of use, cold; clean the stainless grates with a brush while warm; wipe the outside with warm soapy water and no oven cleaner or abrasives; keep water out of the hopper, because wet pellets expand and jam the auger; and keep the bamboo cutting board out of sun and rain.

The manual's three-year warranty terms

The manual's warranty covers defects in material and workmanship for three years from original purchase, with Traeger providing replacement parts. Labour to diagnose or replace parts and freight to ship them are not included, and parts approved for return must be sent back prepaid.

The warranty is void if the grill is not assembled or operated according to the instructions, is resold or traded to another owner, is used with incompatible components, accessories or fuels, is used commercially, or is abused or not maintained. Traeger may require proof of purchase date, so keep the invoice.

Because the heading reads U.S.A. only and the listing's code is Traeger's Canadian model, confirm coverage before you rely on it. The support guide says that to use the warranty you must contact Customer Support to order parts, and it recommends contacting support before buying any replacement part.
