What TBB01RLG is and what comes with it
Amazon lists model and part number TBB01RLG, and Traeger's Timberline XL support guide lists TBB01RLG as the active US model, with TBB01RLGC for Canada. The owner's manual Traeger links from that guide covers both the Timberline and the Timberline XL in one document, followed by a separate manual for the Traeger Induction Cooktop that sits in the side shelf.
The two documents describe the box differently. Amazon's included-components field says only 'Wood Pellet Grill, Assembly Instructions & Tools'. Traeger's support guide marks as included one grease keg liner, one wired meat probe, two wireless meat thermometers and one StayDry pellet bin. Its spec table, however, gives the probe count as two wired probes and two wireless Traeger X MEATER probes, supporting up to two wired and four wireless. Check the box contents on arrival.
Covers are not included. The support guide lists a Timberline XL cover as BAC603 and an outdoor-kitchen cover as BAC683, and an outdoor kitchen trim kit as BAC681, all marked not included. The guide also marks P.A.L. accessories as not included, although the grill has a P.A.L. rail for them.
1,320 square inches, and a manual that prints a different range
Traeger's support guide breaks the 1,320 square inches down: a 33 by 18 inch main grate with 594 square inches, plus second and third grates of 33 by 11 inches with 363 square inches each. The listing also says 1,320. The manual describes an adjustable three-tier grate system and says the upper grates can be removed for taller food such as a turkey.
The owner's manual's feature page, however, gives 616 to 924 square inches of grilling space for the grills it covers. That range does not include 1,320, even though the manual's cover names the Timberline XL. We are not guessing at why; we are reporting what each document prints. If grilling area drives your choice, ask Traeger which figure applies to TBB01RLG.
The support guide and manual agree on a 22-pound hopper, and the support guide gives a 500 degrees Fahrenheit maximum; the listing gives a 165 to 500 degree range. The support guide also lists Super Smoke, WiFIRE, an included pellet sensor, a Downdraft exhaust, a P.A.L. accessory rail and a slide-type pellet evacuation. The manual says the pellet sensor reads the hopper level in 5 percent steps.
The induction cooktop plugs into the grill
The side shelf carries a built-in induction cooktop. The cooktop manual says it is placed into the side shelf, secured with screws underneath, and plugged into the grill behind the pellet hopper. The support guide lists the cooktop as a replacement part, KIT0833, and the grill warranty covers it separately.
Induction only heats compatible cookware. The cooktop manual lists ferrous stainless steel, iron or cast iron with a flat base of at least 5.5 inches as compatible, and pottery, glass, aluminium, bronze or copper, or a base that is not flat or is smaller than 5.5 inches, as incompatible. It cautions that aluminium pans with a metal disk on the bottom can damage the unit and void the warranty.
The support guide lists the side shelf at 17.5 by 20.8 inches in powder-coated steel, and the manual rates the shelf at 60 pounds and the cabinet at 120 pounds. The cooktop has its own replacement part numbers in the guide, and the grill warranty puts the induction hob on a one-year term, shorter than the grill's controller and fan.
Power, clearance and where it can stand
The listing gives 120-volt AC and 1,756 watts. The manual states that GFCI protection must be provided on the circuit or outlet used for the grill. If an extension cord is needed, it calls for an outdoor-rated cord marked W-A or W and a No. 14 AWG grounded cord for 120-volt models, and warns against chaining cords or running one through a window or doorway.
The manual requires at least 20 inches from combustibles, and outdoor use only. It warns that the controller display may be damaged below minus 20 degrees Fahrenheit. The support guide adds that grill covers and pellets must never be stored under the grill cabinet; it lists cast iron or steel pans, sear grates and P.A.L. accessories as items that can go there.
Size and weight are substantial. The support guide gives 71 by 25 by 51 inches assembled and 289 pounds, with a 340-pound package; Amazon's table also says 289 pounds. The manual mentions kickstands and recommends using them on a steep incline; the support guide lists a caster wheel as part KIT0613.
Cleaning: keg, grease governor and no drip-tray liners
The manual sets a routine of checks before and after every cook, covering the drip tray and the EZ-Clean grease and ash keg, plus a monthly clean of firepot ash and creosote and of the grease governor and trap tube. It specifies a stiff, non-metallic tool for scraping grease.
The manual states that covering the drip tray with anything, including foil or liners, will significantly impact performance and could damage the tray or grill. Traeger's support guide nevertheless lists a drip tray liner, BAC607 size E, among compatible accessories, marked not included. The two documents do not agree, so ask Traeger before fitting a liner.
The manual describes a lever-operated hopper clean-out that empties pellets into the included StayDry bin, done only with the grill off and cooled. It warns that heating fuel pellets must never be used because they may contain contaminants and damage the grill.
Warranty: ten years on the body, one year on the induction hob
The manual's 10-year limited warranty covers the body, legs, cabinet doors, bottom shelf and painted shelf or hopper cover against rust-through for ten years. Controller, auger motor, auger and fan get three years for defects, as do the drip tray, EvenFlow heat shield and baffle; grates get three years against rust-through; the hot rod, pellet sensor, cord, sensors, door gasket, induction hob and lighting get one year.
Coverage runs from original purchase from traeger.com or a Traeger authorized dealer. The remedy is replacement parts, new or refurbished, fitted by you; labour and freight for parts are at your expense, and Traeger may ask for photos or video chats and analyse connected-grill data. It excludes paint damage from grease fires, UV exposure, wear and warping of the drip tray, heat shield or baffle.
The support guide adds that warranty parts must be ordered through Customer Support, and suggests contacting support before buying any replacement part to confirm it is the right one. The cooktop manual refers to Traeger's online warranty policy for the induction cooktop rather than printing terms. Confirm that the Amazon seller counts as an authorized dealer before relying on the warranty.
