One device, four jobs, and a shared manual

WOLFBOX sells this as a 4-in-1: a 3000 peak amp 12-volt jump starter, a 160 PSI air compressor, a USB power bank and a 400-lumen LED light. Its product page adds a 16,000 mAh battery and says the unit inflates up to 45 tyres per charge. The listing rates the starting side for 8 litre gas and 6 litre diesel engines, a figure that does not appear on WOLFBOX's product page.

The manual supplied with the listing is written for two units, the MegaVolt 16 Air and the MegaVolt 24 Air, with a single specification table splitting them by column. When you read it, take the MegaVolt16 Air column only, because the two models differ on capacity, start current, peak current, charge time and weight.

The packing list is the device, smart battery clamps, a USB-C to USB-C charging cable, an air hose, three air nozzles, an EVA pack and the user manual. Both the manual and the listing say no charging adapter is included. The listing's included-components field matches except that it does not mention the hose or nozzles.

The MegaVolt16 Air column, read straight

Battery capacity 59.2 watt-hours, quoted as 16000 mAh. Start current 600 amps and peak current 3000 amps, which are two separate rows in the table. USB-C input and output at PD65W covering 5V/3A, 9V/3A, 12V/3A, 15V/3A and 20V/3.25A. USB-A output at QC3.0 18W. DC output 14 to 16 volts. Operating temperature minus 20 to 60 Celsius, minus 4 to 140 Fahrenheit.

Full charge takes roughly one to one and a half hours, and the FAQ adds the condition attached to that figure: a PD65W or higher charger. Dimensions are 238.5 by 134 by 54.8 millimetres and weight is 1410 grams for this model. The listing's dimensions match in inches, and its 3.2 pound weight is close to the manual's gram figure.

Two listing fields do not line up with any of that. The battery capacity field reads 4000 milliamp hours and the amperage field reads 500 milliamps, where the listing title, WOLFBOX's page and the manual all say 16000 mAh and thousands of amps. The listing also advertises a 160W DC continuous output while the manual labels that socket a 15V/10A output port.

How many starts in a row? The manual says two things

The warnings section is strict. It says not to start the car more than three times in a row and to allow a two-minute interval between starts. It also says to remove the unit from the car battery within 30 seconds of starting, and not to charge the unit immediately after using it to start a vehicle.

The error table in the same manual describes a different threshold. It lists a red light steady for 30 seconds and then off, gives the cause as eight starts within ten minutes, and gives the solution as waiting ten minutes. Three in a row with two-minute gaps and eight in ten minutes are not the same rule, and both are printed in one document.

We are not going to say which of the two rules governs, because the manual prints both without reconciling them. The manual also sets a floor for starting at all: its feature instructions say to ensure the battery level is above 50 percent before jump starting a 12-volt vehicle. On starts per charge, the FAQ gives approximately 30 for the MegaVolt16 Air.

The inflator has five modes with their own ranges

Pressure units switch with the PSI button and modes with the M button, and each mode has its own preset and its own limits. Car mode starts at 36 PSI with a range of 26 to 50. Motorcycle mode starts at 31 PSI over 26 to 43. Bicycle mode starts at 44 PSI over 30 to 145. Ball mode starts at 9 PSI over 4 to 16.

Custom mode is where the headline number lives: it starts at 21 PSI and runs from 7 to 160 PSI, so the 160 PSI ceiling is only reachable in that mode. Step size depends on the unit, and holding the plus or minus button for a second scrolls quickly, wrapping from maximum back to minimum.

The inflator has its own error state worth knowing. If tyre pressure has not reached 20 kPa within 50 seconds, the manual says one or two battery bars flash and tells you to check for leaks. WOLFBOX's page claims up to 45 tyres per charge, and the listing quotes specific inflation times per tyre size that appear in neither the manual nor WOLFBOX's page.

Temperature: three different bands to keep straight

Operating temperature is minus 4 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit. Charging is narrower and set out in the warnings: charge only between 32 and 113 degrees Fahrenheit, 0 to 45 Celsius. The manual also says not to store the product where temperatures exceed 140 degrees Fahrenheit.

The unit polices those limits itself. Above 55 Celsius battery temperature, over-temperature protection engages and does not lift until the pack falls below 45 Celsius, with a high-temperature icon shown. Below 0 Celsius, low-temperature protection engages during charging and lifts above 5 Celsius, with a low-temperature icon shown. A separate error state flashes battery bars when the surface temperature passes 120 Celsius.

WOLFBOX's FAQ answers the same question differently. It says the unit can be stored between minus 4 and 140 Fahrenheit and that you can leave it in the car in summer and winter without issue. That is the manual's operating range used as a storage range, and it sits alongside the manual's much narrower charging window, so plan charging indoors in winter.

Power bank behaviour, auto shutdown and warranty

The USB ports only work while the unit is powered on, and the manual is explicit that charging cannot occur if the device is off. Both ports can run at once, removing one does not affect the other, and the display shows OUT with the battery level while they are active. WOLFBOX's FAQ adds that IN on the screen means the unit itself is charging.

Three automatic shutdowns are documented. In standby with the light off, the unit switches off after two minutes. With the LED light on, it switches off after four hours. If both USB ports are unplugged, it shuts down after 90 seconds. That two-minute standby timeout is also the answer the FAQ gives for how to turn the unit off.

The warranty heading in the manual reads WOLFBOX Two (2) Year Limited Warranty, and the listing's warranty field says two years, but the manual prints no terms, exclusions or claim process under that heading. There is also a disagreement on first use: the manual recommends charging the product on receipt, while WOLFBOX's FAQ says it is ready to work as soon as you receive it. IP64 appears in the listing's Specification Met field and in neither WOLFBOX document read here.
