The Amazon listing gives model number WYZECGS, and Wyze's support Tech Specs article lists the same code for the Wyze Cam OG. Wyze's product page adds that the latest 2025 model number, printed on the box, is WYZECGSD, and that the previous one is WYZECGS. It says appearance may differ by the camera you receive while functionality is identical.

The listing's weight of 4.4 ounces matches the product page's figure for the 2025 WYZECGSD, while the page gives 4.1 ounces for the WYZECGS. So the listing does not show which of the two ships. The quick start guide's declaration of conformity prints a third identifier, WYZECGSCP3, which Wyze does not tie to either box code.

Size and weight: three sets of figures

Wyze's support Tech Specs article gives 3.6 by 3.0 by 2.1 inches and 0.48 pounds for the Wyze Cam OG. Wyze's product page gives 1.89 inches on each side and 4.1 ounces for the WYZECGS, and 2.05 inches on each side and 4.4 ounces for the 2025 WYZECGSD. The listing gives 4.4 ounces.

Wyze's support article on the new look says the new camera is slightly larger, has its microSD card slot moved to the side, uses a standard 1/4-inch-20 mount thread and has no pig tail on the back. It says the larger camera stacks with the older OG and Telephoto 3x only at the bottom of the stack, and fits the Wyze Window Mount v2 without the adapter.

Wyze lists 1080p at 1920 by 1080 with a CMOS Starlight sensor, colour night vision, four 850 nm infrared LEDs, an 8x digital zoom and a spotlight of two 5000K LEDs at 40 lumens. Its support article gives frame rates of 20 FPS in daytime and 15 FPS at night.

The field of view is 121.4 degrees diagonal for the WYZECGS and 116 degrees for the WYZECGSD on the product page, and the support article gives 121.4 degrees. Wyze's page describes a 90-decibel user-activated siren, while its support article gives the siren as 100 to 106 dB, and the listing repeats 90 decibels.

Plug-in power and outdoor use

Wyze's FAQ says the Wyze Cam OG is not wireless or battery powered and runs from the included 6-foot USB cable. The power adapter takes 110 to 240V and outputs 5V at 1A, the port is micro USB, and the quick start guide says to use only the power supply provided.

Wyze rates it IP65 for indoor and outdoor use, with an operating range of -4°F to 131°F. Wyze lists its Outdoor Power Adapter under Compatible With, and the listing says the adapter is required for outdoor use and sold separately, but the Wyze text read does not state that requirement.

Storage, Wi-Fi, phones and Cam Plus

Wyze lists 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only on 802.11 b/g/n, and its FAQ says 5 GHz is not supported. Its support article lists Android 7.0 or later and iOS 14.0 or later, while the product page lists Android 9.0 or later and iOS 15.0 or later, so plan on the product page's Android 9.0 and iOS 15.0 minimums.

Wyze's page says to add AI alerts and cloud backup with Cam Plus, its subscription. The quick start guide's Cam Plus panel lists full-length video recording, smart detection of people, packages and vehicles, and back-to-back event recording without 5-minute gaps. Wyze lists Alexa, Google Assistant and IFTTT.

The quick start guide lists one Wyze Cam OG, one indoor power adapter, one USB cable, two wall anchors, two mounting screws, one wall plate and the guide. Wyze's product page adds that the camera you receive may differ slightly in appearance, and its box contents list for the standard camera matches this.

Setup starts by downloading the Wyze app and signing in or creating an account. You then power the camera and wait 20 seconds or until the status light flashes red, press and release the SETUP button and wait 3 to 5 seconds for a voice prompt, and add it in the app under Add Device, Cameras, Wyze Cam OG.

Wyze's page and support article both give a 1-year warranty, and the listing says the same. The terms of that warranty were not read, so ask Wyze what it covers before relying on it.
