A commercial dehumidifier with a built-in pump
The Storm Ultra is AlorAir's commercial dehumidifier with a rotationally molded polyethylene housing, a built-in heavy-duty condensate pump, a rigid metal handle and two large-diameter wheels. AlorAir's specification sheet rates it for spaces up to 2,600 square feet, and the listing gives the same figure.
AlorAir's feature list includes auto defrost, a humidity sensor, an hours-run meter, a 1 to 24 hour delayed on or off timer, automatic restart after a power failure, error-code diagnostics, an LCD control panel, storage for the power cord and drain hose, and ductwork options.
The product page offers green, red and yellow housings. This listing is the yellow variant, while the specification sheet pictures a green unit under the same Storm Ultra name.
190 pints or 90 pints?
The product page title and the listing both describe a 190 pint dehumidifier, and the listing's bullet says up to 190 pints per day under 95 degrees Fahrenheit and 90 percent relative humidity. AlorAir's specification sheet lists capacity as 90 pints, and the listing's own details table gives a dehumidification capacity of 90 pints per day.
The specification sheet does not state the test conditions for its 90 pint figure, and the product page does not explain the gap. Both figures come from AlorAir or its listing, attached to different or unstated conditions.
Other rated figures from the specification sheet are 115 volts at 60 hertz, 5.6 amps, airflow of 210 CFM or 350 cubic meters per hour, 58 dBA or less, 2.85 liters per kilowatt-hour, R410A refrigerant and a MERV-8 filter. The listing gives 639.4 watts and 210 CFM.
Size, weight and operating range
AlorAir's specification sheet gives dimensions of 21.2 by 22 by 38 inches and a weight of 99.2 pounds. The listing gives 21.2 by 19.2 by 31 inches and 103.6 pounds. Neither source explains the difference in height or weight.
The specification sheet gives a functioning temperature range of 33.8 to 105 degrees Fahrenheit and a humidity range of 25 to 80 percent. The product page's feature list says auto defrost allows operation at low temperatures of 36 degrees Fahrenheit, a slightly different low-end figure.
The listing's upper temperature rating field reads 105 degrees Fahrenheit, which matches the specification sheet. The listing also says the two big wheels and handles let the unit be moved from downstairs to upstairs; the maker page describes semi-pneumatic wheels and a rigid handle for transport.
Draining with the pump
Both AlorAir documents list a condensate pump for draining, and the product page says the pump can be taken out by pulling its quick connector. The page's box list includes a water pipe, and the listing says a drain hose is included.
The listing gives a pump lift of up to 14.7 feet and a 19.8 foot drain hose. Neither the product page nor the specification sheet read here states the pump's lift height or the hose length, so those figures rest on the listing alone.
The specification sheet also lists water-full protection and memory starting among its features, and the listing describes automatic shut off when room humidity reaches the set level and restart when it rises again.
Two apps and a 2.4 GHz requirement
AlorAir says the app you need depends on the unit's manufacture date: units made before April 30, 2023 use the AlorAir-R app, and units made on or after that date use the Lite app. The product page names it AlorAir-Lite in one place and AlorAir-R Lite in another; the listing says AlorAir-R Lite.
Both apps support only 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, and AlorAir suggests disabling a router's 5 GHz network when pairing. It also advises checking that the app is available for your Android device on Google Play before buying, because some Android devices may not be compatible.
For pairing, the product page suggests starting close to the router and says a Wi-Fi mesh or repeater may help the signal. Its box list is the unit, a pre-filter, a MERV-8 filter, a user manual, a power cord and a water pipe.
Warranty wording and what could not be checked
AlorAir's product page and the listing both describe a 6 year limited warranty. The listing spells it out as a two-year full warranty covering parts, labor and unit replacement, followed by years three to six covering refrigeration system parts only, compressor, condenser and evaporator, excluding transport and labor.
