Amazon lists model number TO1787SS-RFP and part number TO1787SS-RF, with UPC 050875828070. BLACK+DECKER's appliance site gives the same product a GTIN of 00050875828070, and the page code carries TO1787SS-RFP; the use and care manual it links reads TO1787SS on the cover.

It offers five functions, air fry, bake, broil, toast and keep warm, on two knobs: a temperature selector and a combined toast shade and timer knob with a Stay On setting. BLACK+DECKER describes a 30-minute timer and a capacity of a 9-inch pizza or four slices of bread, and the listing repeats both figures.

The manual's parts list names an extra deep curved interior, an air fry mesh tray, a wire rack that doubles as the broil rack, a bake pan that doubles as the drip tray and a crumb tray, with replacement part numbers for the tray, pan and crumb tray. Amazon lists the included components as a rack, pan and mesh basket.

1150 watts or 1500 watts

The power figure differs between BLACK+DECKER's own documents. The manual's rating line reads 1150 W, 120 V, 60 Hz, and Amazon's table also lists 1150 watts. BLACK+DECKER's product-page specification block lists 1500 W. We are reporting both; check the rating label on the unit if the figure matters for the circuit you plan to use.

Size and weight also differ. The product page lists 17.33 inches long, 15.5 inches wide and 8.2 inches high, and 7.1 pounds. Amazon's table lists 11.5 by 15.5 by 8.2 inches and 9.14 pounds. The width and height agree; the depth and weight do not.

The oven has a grounded plug that fits only a three-prong outlet, and the manual says a short cord is supplied. If you use an extension cord, the manual says its rating should be at least the appliance's, it should be a grounding-type 3-wire cord, and it should not drape over the counter.

Air fry runs the oven at 425°F

The manual says air fry mode operates the oven at 425 degrees Fahrenheit. It says preheating is not needed for air frying, that food should go in a single layer on the mesh tray, and that the mesh tray sits on top of the wire rack during air frying.

The manual notes that the heating elements cycle on and off during air frying, and that an audible signal sounds at the end of a timed cycle. It also says you must set the timer or select Stay On for the oven to operate. BLACK+DECKER lists the timer at 30 minutes.

BLACK+DECKER's product page describes an EvenToast heat diffuser, which it links to heat and infrared energy, as one of the oven's highlights. The manual's keep-warm function is meant for already cooked food over short periods, according to its notes.

Counter space and placement

The manual asks for 6 inches or more of clearance around the sides, back and top of the oven during operation. It also says to make sure the crumb tray is in place before you use the oven, and it describes an extra deep curved interior.

Food and bakeware should stay at least 1.5 inches from the top heating elements, and food should stay within the edges of the baking pan, according to the manual. Metal, ovenproof glass and ceramic bakeware can be used in the oven, the manual says.

The manual describes the product as for household use only, says it should not be left unattended while operating, and says it is not intended to be run by an external timer or a separate remote-control system. It also notes that cook times vary with altitude, humidity and the electrical supply.

Cleaning is mostly by hand

The manual says the wire rack and air fry mesh tray are dishwasher safe, and recommends washing the bake pan and crumb tray by hand. It says to clean only when the oven is off, unplugged and cool, and not to use aerosol or spray oven cleaners anywhere on the unit.

The glass door is cleaned with a sponge and dish soap, without spray cleaners, according to the manual. It also says not to try to clean the heating elements, and notes that food which touches them burns off on its own. The oven contains no user-serviceable parts and has a tamper-resistant screw on the outer cover.

Two-year replacement warranty

The manual's warranty applies in the United States and Canada and runs for two years from original purchase, with proof of purchase. The remedy is a similar replacement product, new or factory refurbished, and liability is capped at the purchase price. Amazon's field and the product page also say two years.

Exclusions include commercial use, misuse or neglect, modified products, products used outside the country of purchase, glass parts and accessory items packed with the unit, and shipping and handling for the replacement. Keep your receipt as proof of the purchase date.

The manual asks owners not to return the oven to the store or mail it back when making a warranty claim. It also gives a separate telephone number for ordering replacement parts and accessories such as the trays listed in its parts section.
